I try to do my outside work in the morning, before the heat gets oppressive and in the shade if possible. Keep a good fan handy if the wind dies down. Also can work later in the evening into the night. Sometimes, I simply must work out in the heat, then, keep plenty of water handy and go for it!Oh yeah... super comfortable! The second half of June was mostly mid-90's, with absolutely oppressive dewpoints in the mid-70's. Heat index was hovering 105F - 110F every afternoon.
At least the number of days we have like that are probably way fewer than you, but thanks to that ubiquitous east-coast humidity, it still gets stupid-hot (index > 100F) here an average of maybe 15 days per summer.
I have friends in Texas, and others in Floriday. Both basically write off two months of their summer, as too hot to do anything outside. I can hibernate indoors and work "house projects" for 15 days per year, but... 60 days?
I sure don't miss that northern rust belt rust on vehicles I work on!
