Anyone started a new Hobby???

I guess it is a new hobby,, I started a accumulating equipment that I have that will be needed,,

I am going to make some BioChar,

It is kinda like charcoal, except much smaller pieces, and you put it in the garden.
A piece as big as your thumb has the surface area of half of a football field,
the surface is where good organisms live.

The one article I saw showed the earth under the Amazon jungle has naturally occurring BioChar over a foot deep.
They said that is one of the reasons plants grow so prolifically there,,,

I'm practicing to be a prisoner in solitary confinement. Our county has been on max lockdown,no fast food carry-out,no liquor stores open. 3 days ago a flare-up of Sciatica in my left hip and leg so I can't even go for a walk outside.And,of course laid off right now. Don't have the Chinese crud yet,so very thankful for that.

I tried making some a few years ago, but it was a colossal failure. I tried using the old method of fire and dirt. It ended up being charred wood, or ash...no real char to speak of. :-(

I really have not taken up a new hobby, but I have completed quite a few home improvements over the last few weeks. I upgraded our master bedroom, and redid our main bathroom.

As soon as my gravel pit gets the frost out of the ground, I will start hauling gravel to redo the driveway. Operation Endless Haul!

I am kind of looking forward to doing that because I have been spending a ton of money on home improvements! With redoing my driveway, $10 will buy enough fuel to operate all day long!

Still piddling around my property with the tractor and backhoe.

One of my hobbies was running track days on road courses with my 99 Mustang. All of those events are on hold until further notice so I picked up a off road Go Kart and made myself a track around the back 3 acres. Going around the same ol course with just myself on the track will probably get boring pretty soon.

I thought about getting back into SIM racing but that gets expensive and people act like idiots so I ruled that out. Funny how much different people act in a virtual environment vs the real world.
