Gamble,

They do seem to be an ideal size/weight/power for my property size. Just seem too top heavy even w/o the cab. I'm clearly not the only one who feels that way given the number of threads here on the same topic.

JD has some great marketing researchers. I know, I went to B-school with some of them and I'll bet you the next models in this size range can be set up wider. I was just wondering if there was any word on when JD might be introducing that next generation.

Todd

PS) Even offering extensions as a factory option would be a partial fix. Having to spend $600 on aftermarket ones out the door doesn't seem right.

Todd if JD offered the extensions from the factory you would still be looking around that $ figure!!

I haven't heard any rumors about new 3X20's or 4X20's any time soon...just the new transmission coming...

Gamble,

Online, the 4105 looks like it's the same sized frame as the 3520, but it's wider. Is that right?

Thanks,
Todd

Awsome info. Thanks. Kubota's L3540 says it's min width is 60". If turfs are a little wider than Ags, it might be a touch more, but with those extra 12"s you're now a bit wider than an L3540 would be at min. tread. (don't actually know how wide the L can get with turfs and I'll probably get the wider turfs anyway.) Todd

Todd there are two different "Turfs" available. I have the standard 41x14's. I measured outside - outside today and for practical purposes it's 54" in the narrow position. Measuring the difference in the dish of the wheel, I'd say the wide postion would add 4." Flipping the fronts will give 4" as well.

27x8.50-15 6PR Front R3 Turf 2 Pos.
41x14.0-20 4PR Rear R3 Turf 2 Pos.

25x10.5LL-15 6PR Front R3 Turf Special 2 Pos.
41x18LL-16.1 6PR Rear R3 Turf Special 2Pos.

The second listing, I believe, is for an "18" Turf" The info in my owners manual is not consistent with the above so I'm not sure how much more width would be gained with those tires. Not sure about the 22.5 tire. It's not listed as an availalbe size.

Position
22.5LL-16.1 6PR GOLF GA
44x18.00-20 4PR R3 TI
1 (Narrow)
1.5 m (59 in.)
1.4 m (55 in.)*
2
1.6 m (64 in.)
1.7 m (67 in.)

In addition, the WIDE Turf is not compatible with a 72" 7-Iron MMM. Not sure about any other model MMM.

I believe the 4105 & 3203 share the same platform but the 4105 has MUCH larger wheels and tires...

It seems to me if they made a replacement for the 3x20, it would be no wider (Maybe a couple of inches). The width works well for 5' wide implements. Much wider, and the implements grow to 6' wide implements. There is already a series of tractors for 6' implements. I would think a lower center of gravity would be a more preferable in a redesign.

I have the super turfs on my 4310 and they work with my 72" MMM without issue. The only thing I do is when I run the boom plow blade in the winter I switch back to my original R3 tires on the front as they are rated for the loader and the weight of the boom blade and do not lose air. So during spring/summer/fall I run the SuperTurfs on all four wheels and in the Winter I run the R3s on the front.

Stability, well with the super turfs on the back, the stability is incredible without wheel extensions (I originally thought i would need them but no way). The addition of the super turfs was the ticket, I have slopey land and there were a couple of areas where my former 4100 with its R3s got scary. But the 4310 in those same areas is no problem. So you might search Ebay and the web like I did and find a set of wheeeels and superturf tires like I did on the cheap.
