thanks Kenny, i was there, but they don't seem to want to show you much there. the info that i can find is very limited to a few tractors. if green dealer can't help, i'll shoot them an email.

thanks for all of the info. i don't care about heat...just being out of the wind and the blowing snow on my small machine practically makes me sweat. i would remove it entirely in the summer...don't think it would work well mowing around low trees/driving thru the woods.

i asked the seller if he had an online installation manual/spec sheet so i could tell what the finished height would be. he doesn't have a pic of one installed on my tractor, so not 100% sure it sits below the ROPS like the other ones pictured.

probably wouldn't get one this year anyway. already spent too much $ on the pair of snowblowers.

I used the snowblower once and vowed I would get a someone to plow. For the money you cannot go wrong. You get a lot heat from the engine and hydros so it stays rather warm. I added lights to the top and she is snow blowing machine!

Defed, I just put one on my 3720 about 3 weeks ago. I bought it through my John Deere dealer. It was $1350 plus $110 to ship it to Minnesota.

I posted some pictures under the John Deere Owning and operating section. As I had mentioned, its a decent cab for what is intended. The installation instructions could be a bit more clear but the folks at Original Cab were very helpful in talking me through an issue with the door latch. Plan on 4-5 hours for installation if you are by yourself the first time.

So overall I think its a good product for the price. The Curtis cab is nicer but is at least a grand more.

defed I have had one going on 7 years.. for the money I don't think it can be beat.. Call Original Tractor Cab at - 765-663-2214 or
email - sales@originalcab.com
Gary was there and from other post he still is, tell him what you have told us and this afternoon more than likely you will be telling us you order a cab.

Great company to do business , they back there product and listen to there customers before and after the sale.

Defed, It is definately lower than the roll bar. See my pic of the cab on a 4110http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=192065&stc=1&d=1292960642

i sent an email to OTC asking if they knew the height from floorboard to top of the cab was, and they didn't have that info. but he did say that that specific model was designed on my tractor (4300).

he sent some pics of one, and it's taller than the ROPS...

hardtopcab2.jpg

i did notice that this is a fixed ROPS...which might be shorter than the foldable (which i have)?

on the pic he sent, i measured the height of the cab and then transposed that measurement to some fixed area of the tractor. i am on the way outside to see what that dimension is, which should be equal to the height of the cab.

the 4300 uses cab #40121, the 3720 uses #40291 and the 4110 uses #11023. not sure how close the 40121 and 40291 models are.

from the pictures Gary sent, there was a side view. i measured the height of the cab from floor to top. then took this measurement and measured from the front of the weight bracket back. it came to the rear of the add-on step.

took a tape measure and measured this distance on the actual tractor. came out to 5'. ground to floorboard was 2', so i'm guessing overall height should be 7'? which is lower than the ROPS and my 8' door.

TCowner....can you measure from floorboard to top of cab? i would think the 2 should be close as both at 40000 series cabs.

i wonder if it's possible to just unbolt the supports from the tractor and hoist the whole cab up to the ceiling? would hate to have to assemble and disassemble the thing every year. once together, how much can be left 'intact' when removing?

Before I put the auto type heater and 12v in mine, I would remove doors, side curtains, and windshield .. Unbolt at the upright supports each corner post about 6 or 8" long and I would carry it over to my basement for the summer.OH I did the part that attaches to dash of tractor.
So with headroom in your garage I would see no reason why you couldn't lift complete cab off tractor.

That is what I do with mine. I think it is 10 bolts that hold it to the tractor and I lift the whole thing off.
