Anyone use Sch 80 PVC for air lines?

Agree. PVC gets more and more brittle, especially with sunlight.
A metal pipe will bend if you hit it by mistake. Old PVC will shatter.
Unless you’re really cash strapped, go for the correct material

How much is your eyesight worth? If you don’t have the cash just drag an airline from the compressor.

There is a HDPE tube with an aluminum ply that is intended for air line use. It is similar to PEX, but uses compression type fittings. Brand names would be Maxline or RapidAire.

Much better choice than PVC.

Need to plumb out my shop in the not too distant future. Was thinking about using Sch 80 PVC. I have heard of many people using it without issues.

Anyone out in TVN land using this in their shop?
When I built my shop in '83, I plumbed air around the inside with 1" Sch 80 pipe. At the time, I was the house carrier at the local plastic pipe company, so I got about 120 feet of it (6 20 footers) for free. Over the years, I've had two glue joints fail, and one minor leak at a joint. Other than that, it's been great.
Prepping the joint surfaces, using plenty of glue and allowing the joint to cure for a day or so before use is recommended.

I would use the correct line. When I plumbed mine I went to a local supply house and got everything I needed, line, compression fittings, etc. That was 30 years ago & never a problem.
175 psi 2 stage compressor.
Each thing has it's own purpose and I always go with that. Only thing I would change is compressor soundproofed.
