Saw them on Messicks site. Looks interesting. Maybe even better than the FEL mounted blade. Anyone have experience? Maybe some pics on a BX?

I would think you would soon run out of traction with a BX;I would go with a blade.

Agree whole heartedly. The wetter or deeper the snow, the more the angle allows you to keep momentum, which is your friend in moving snow. I've pushed snow, tons and tons of it with a front blade, double hydraulic, for a decade up here. Only way to go. Not saying a pusher isn't right for some contexts, but i'll be staying with the blade.

I've had the 60" dozer and it's a brute. The 54" also works very, very well.

I agree on the traction/weight issue, although I don't seem to run out of it pushing snow here with my rear ballast unless I run the full length of the driveway. I'm really pushing for the front HD blade like yours, BP. I wish I could dump my FEL blade for the right price, and go with the HD blade tomorrow, but seems like the FEL blade for the BX is the red herring no one wants. For my use, a rear blade and the HD front QA mount blade would be perfect. I might just swing a deal in spring for an 80-series and dump the whole works. Nice looking rig, by the way.

The original BX was an 1860 with the dozer blade. With 70lb wheel weights it was unstoppable. Then, I went to a B2320 and thought I'd just get by with the front loader and rear blade. Fact is, we just get too much snow. We're pushing snow by November and still at it April. 75% of the tractor hours sometimes come in the winter doing this job. When the next BX came along, a 23 horse, I went back to a front blade. The lighter duty blade uses the same front hitch assembly but only come with manual manual angling. A spare cylinder and a bit of fabricating and it is now a hydraulic angle. It is simply THE fastest way to push out a whole bunch of snow. Love it. I also agree that the leverage placed way out front on the end of the FEL arms will hamper a BX something fierce. The tractor simply doesn't have the weight, in itself, to counter act that. I found the B series with the loader having much the same issues. The BX front hitch assembly is highway robbery to buy, but the fool thing is incredible. Holding the blade and articulating it so close to the front of the tractor just flat works. If you'd ever watch a BX work in snow with this setup you'd shake your head. It's a sight to see.

I bought a 5 ft land pride snow pusher two years ago and I couldn't be happier ! it does everything I have asked of it an more. Don't let the naysayers influence your decision. It will push an amazing amount of snow a long way,Plus with the Pull back option you can back blade. Had two big storms here last year 38 inches and 42 inches fell and I was able to clean my 300 ft driveway and parking area plus get out to the horse barn with hay. In short if you chain up the rear tires and with some practice you will be very happy with the snowpusher...Iam.

Agree here... I put a 6' push only straight blade on my GC2400 this year because it is what I had. I didn't know what to expect; half expected it to be too much blade for a 1500lb tractor (I did have about 400lbs hanging off the 3pt which made a big dif).

I was wrong. It handled it just fine. I think yours would handle a 5' pusher. The only thing I will say is that a pusher is not going to do long lanes as well as an angled blade. I have a smallish short drive so didn't care about that.

If you have a long lane or lots of distance to plow I would not go with a pusher.

That's what I thought too 2ndhalf, but I was pleasantly surprised at how it will push snow farther that I expected. If I do come to a stop I simply back up and take half the pile along with the snow that has fallen. If its a lot of snow I just raise the pusher up 5-6 inches and I am good. Don't mean to belabor the subject but I just don't want to see robertm dismiss what might work very well for him and save a few bucks too!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm set on selling my new Kubota rear blower that I've never used, as well as the front FEL blade. After that, I will likely go with a front QA HD 60" blade and add a rear blade and call it quits. In cases where we get buried, I can use the loader bucket. We've been getting 1/2" to 2" snows for the past four years, thus the blower sitting never used. If that is the frequency, I'd rather use the floor space on a rear bagger for leaves and grass. That I KNOW I will use EVERY year for months. If we for some reason start getting real snows again, I'll have the front QA and can easily add a blower. Now, to figure if I need go with an 80-Series...
