I've been using these inexpensive tablets for years and directions are hard for me to find. If anyone would like to share tips and tricks on these tablets please PM me and we can do it off group.

My wife is an avid reader and uses a Kindle Paperwhite. I have a Kindle Fire 10 HD, but all I use it for is streaming video. I also have a Samsung tablet, but the Kindle Fire is a much better video platform. I added a 64 gb. SDXC card and download hours of entertainment for those duck hunting trips in the middle of nowhere.

Bought a Fire 10HD about 6 months back.
First thing you want to do is blow off all the Amazon crap, thing works like a top now. I used Fire Toolbox ( [WINDOWS][TOOL]Fire Toolbox V28.9 ) Battery lasts forever, great video quality and getting rid of Amazon garbage allows you to use Google Play store to load whatever app you want, not the apps that Amazon wants. For the price you can't beat it IMHO.
I even used that program on my grandaughters old 7" fire tablet, the transformation was unreal, battery life being the main one.
Actually, it doesn't remove the crap software, apparently it's coded right into the OS. It disables it so it doesn't load.....Mike

I'm on my 3rd Kindle Fire 10" tablet. With each successive Generation, it appears that the font gets smaller or you just can't enlarge it enough.

I spend way to much time on it but love the kindle for reading, web surfing, eMail and Forum browsing. All of them have been trouble free.

I have a bluetooth keyboard for the times I use the Kindle Fire on social media. Screen keyboards are too much like the old non-tactile membrane keyboards of the early computer years. The touch screen makes a reasonable mouse substitute, but I don't type more than a sentence without a real keyboard.

If you just want to read a book, there is nothing better than a Paperwhite, not even a real book. You can read it in the dark, in bright sunlight, or anything in between, the battery lasts weeks between recharges, and you can carry a whole library in your hand. Fonts are adjustable to match your vision. My wife finally wrecked her old Paperwhite, and the new one has an even sharper screen, plus Bluetooth so it will play audio books. Amazon offers a discount on Kindle versions of books so you can follow the text and audio at the same time if you like. There's a lot to be said for a device that does one thing better than anybody else.

I'll follow this for tips because I purchased a Fire and set it up at a store to test it when they place their orders twice a week. I was able to unload some apps on setup but junk keeps popping up every time they turn it on. Is there a way to eliminate those game pop ups?
