Anyone using an Amazon/Kindle Fire tablet?

Before I started having all of that trouble with my tablet, my message included basically the following that I didn't retype because my nerves were shot.

Several years ago, I installed an add-on that cost approximately $15.00 and couldn't tell much difference. Aren't screen lock ads the ones that go away when I put in my screen lock password? They don't bother me much anyway? (Plesse correct me if I'm wrong.)
It's the pop-up ads that drive me crazy and as best I can remember, I still had plenty of them.

I think the pop-up ads are browser or app related, not something the Kindle does to you. If I'm just streaming video, I never get them. Is there an ad blocker on Amazon's app site? If not, that might be a good reason to hack the system to give you Play Store. I use the AVG secure browser on my computer and cell phone, and don't even have to deal with the YouTube pop-up ads.

There is an ad blocker on the Kindle app site. It must be the one that occasionally sends a notice telling me how many ads it's blocked. I've got to remember to try and turn those notices off.

If you order a tablet on Prime Day, they price them 50% off. There may be other sales during the year.

They work great as a content consuming device and are very cost effective. Not too great as a computer replacement though. I finally bit the bullet and ordered an ipad pro with magic keyboard. At the risk of sounding like an Apple fanboy, their stuff works all the time, every time, and for a long, long time. I've had many Android products and all have failed me at some point. For the cost of a Fire tablet, it isn't really a big deal, just get another if all you are doing is personal entertainment.
