Anyone using Paramedic ICE

I read an article today, seems as though a Paramedic is promoting the "In Case of Emergency" Cell phone id. He says most people carry cell phones with hundreds of #'s stored. In his profession when he gets on the scene of an accident they just don't know who to call in an Emergency.

He has asked for a national campaign to put the letters ICE stored in your cell phone in front of your emegency contacts name, for example:

ICE#1 Wife
ICE#2 Dad
ICE#3 Mom

Get the idea? I can see if this goes national it may be good ... What ya'll think ...

"ICE" has been around for awhile.
It's still a good idea. We have "ICE" numbers on all our phones.
It may be good idea to put a sticker on your phone.

Around here they've promoted that on the radio. It is a good idea. Let's just hope it's never needed.

ICE is great, BUT, when they pick up the cell phone, who are/were YOU?

Surprizing, how many people seem to forget that little tidbit of information.

I've had mine programed that way for a couple of years it just makes sense the only problem i see if the phone is locked.

I just got a new phone a few weeks back and it has this feature.

As a firefighter I had heard of this at work, but I hand the phone off to some young guy let him figure out how to use the phone then I do the talking to tell the family that there has been some sort of emergency; the joys of being the officer. along with technologically challenged.
