Thats 500 MB in that plan... Thanks for the pageplus info, I had not heard of them.

Of course, my mistake. Thanks

I just received a text overnight that my monthly charges went on my CC.

Very easy, and shhh, no taxes or paying for those free phones that being abused.

Isn't PP exclusively for Verizon or CDMA phones?

My understanding is that PP only works with CMDA phones and uses the Verizon network.

My understanding is that you need a Verizon phone that was not sold as pre-paid (cheap), or you can buy a new phone directly from Page Plus (not as cheap).

Yes, I bought a brand new iPhone4 Vz phone off of ebay for $260 IIR, and called PP to get it going.

It's also my understanding the Page Plus is owned by Tracfone and serve the CDMA community. I bought a nice 32gB iphone4 (verizon) as well on ebay for $160 and put it own Straighttalk. It works just like a ST branded phone. The MRS is happy. PP was my second choice if I couldn't get the iphone to work with ST. Straighttalk has a lot of policies they hide and don't tell you about in thier BYOP program. All is bot as it appears.

They will not guarantee that you will have picture messaging. They will not guarantee 3G either. One must do his homework thoroughly before buying a used phone to port into ST.

Mike,
How did you get your torque working on straight talk? I have tried without success.

I bought a BLU phone from Amazon for my wife to use as her GoPhone. It's a smartphone, but she doesn't have a data plan, but can still use wifi for data.

+1 for PagePlus. I moved an out of contract VerizonWireless iPhone 4S over a year ago, and I can't tell any difference in coverage or quality of service. I signed up over the web, but got stuck and called their customer service number. A very well spoken and informed CSR had me going in just a few minutes. I didn't have to install any software or buy a SIM. My bill went from $90/mo to $30/mo, and now I can txt whereas the Verizon plan didn't include it. The prepaid card renews automatically every month, and I get a txt confirmation a day or two beforehand to let me know everything's OK. The PP web site gives access to account info, calling records for voice, txt, and data, and phone configuration. The only minor draw back is that customer service is only available during the day on weekdays, so if you have a problem at night or on weekends you may be stuck for a while. 1200 minutes and 500Gb/data/month, what's not to like?

As a side note, the electricity went off for most of a day here last week, and I had no cell service or Internet as a result. I have a land line though, and it kept working just fine. That let me check in with the utility for repair information, and I'm also on the county emergency notification system, which I'm told only works with land lines. Nice to have in wildfire country.
