i'm in the process of building a shed off the east side of my new barn: so last week, when i was finished for the day, i left the 5ft wooden ladder standing right where i would need it when i picked up the metal roofing: yesterday i went out there to get something out of the barn, and sure enough, the donkeys had turned the ladder over and broke the 2 smaller legs completely off: in fact, i spent about 15-20 minutes out there today, trying to find the remains of the legs, with no luck!!!
sometimes i wonder about myself???

they are good at that: i learned a long time ago, not to leave tools laying where they could reach them...if they can get them in their mouth, they carry them off. sure didn't expect them to bother a 5ft ladder though.

If you were closer like in MA. I surely would take them. I could use a couple of donkeys for my farm. They would match the new neighbors just fine if you know what I mean.

i get frustrated with them sometimes, like now: but i really wouldn't get rid of them: they are a lot of fun, plus i like to hear them bray all hours of the day and night...i have 6, and probably wouldn't mind being down to just 4, but the kids and GRANDkids would probably skin me. all we do is pet-em and feed-em: but they keep things interesting.

I have one donkey and he is enough! He is always getting into hot water with me! The kids and my neighbors love him, but sometimes I am just want to put my foot where it counts! One day I found water gushing out of the barn. He got in there and somehow turned on all the lights and turned on the spigot too! I am not kidding about that! I know it was him!

On Sunday watched some deer run across my property jump my fence, cross the road and then jump the other fence into the neighbor's property. This neighbor has one male uncastrated donkey with his cattle that protect them from coyotes and wolves. The last deer to jump the fence caught a leg or something but went down and was flopping around on the ground, maybe broke a leg. The donkey was real close and ran over to the deer (small buck) and killed the deer within 10 minutes of biting the deer by the throat and throwing him into the air then stomping and kicking the deer. I just could not believe what I was seeing not more than 100" away. I had heard that the donkeys are very dangerous and I believe it now. Now if I could just get him to kill the rest of the deer around here maybe my bushes and plants could grow. The deer here are a problem, hit one with your car and your $500 deductible just about covers the damage. After a couple of these incidents you will feel the same way .

i have to keep all the outside water lines locked or they turn them on, even the one yard hydrant i have left, they can lift that handle when i have a heck of a time pulling the handle up?? gloves where the biggest problem, until i figured it out..its tough when you have GRANDkids and donkeys, you don't know which one is carrying off your gloves or turning the water faucets on!! at least till it happens an the GRANDS haven't been around for a day or two.
i wish my donkeys where a little more aggressive with dogs, but from what i understand, they are more aggressive that way, when there is only one, running with cows: with more donkeys, they don't protect as well??
