anyone with a Deere 790 etc

I am wondering if someone had a Deere 790, my friend bought one and it has no manual, he said the loader will move but the bucket wont curl, and there are solenoids on the hydraulic couplers, so he wondered what the solenoids are for and perhaps they were not working and keeping the fluid in?? I'll get him to swap the couplers from the loader to the bucket to see if they are working .

Pictures of these solenoids would help. It sounds like it is set up to divert the hydraulic fluid to an extra set of ports, like for using with a third function. Does it look like the bucket may have had a grapple bolted on at some point? Is there a switch on or near the SCV (joystick for the loader) that controls the solenoids?

I had a 770, no loader, but it came with the joystick. I used it for the front snowblower chute. It has simple valves, not solenoids. Does the joystick move both ways? I seem to remember you could lock it.
