I'm in the market for a new tractor. I'm looking for something in the 28-30 HP range. 4wd with HST and loader. I don't want to spend anymore than 16,000. Does John Deere have something that falls into this category? I don't want a 790. Thanks.

3120 and up is out of your price range - even taking into account discounts from list.

2520 is just under your HP specs (it's 26.5 HP) but is 4WD with HST and 200CX loader. Specs out in this package for just over $18K (list). You should be able to negotiate this down to under $16K with your local dealer and take advantage of the 0% financing (if need be). Given, that's about 12% off list but reports come in of "real-life" prices of 10%-15% off list all the time (sometimes more!). I bought my 2305 package for ~14% off list and really didn't press the dealer too hard to get to that number.

Folks that have the 2520 have been singing it's praises here - do a search and you'll find a ton of info.

Hey. it is the end of the month. I'd call any dealers in your ares (use the dealer locator at Deere.com) Somebody needs a sale to hit a quota. Tell them just what you posted, you might snag a 3120 or 3205...

You should also consider any almost new TEN series machines. You may find one with a year of warranty left. The 4310 (32Hp) and 4410 (35Hp) are both winners there...

Well if your looking for a JD tractor in 20-30 HP well I would go with JD 3120.It has standed E-Hydro transmission twin touch pedals,3 Speed transmission, 29.5 HP, 3 cylinder yamar diesel engine, standed 4 WD shift on the fly, diff lock, 2200 lbs rear 3 pt. hitch, information center, load match,standed cruise control, loader ready, standed rear pto 540, and optional mid,the 3X20 is the why go. I have had my 3120 for 9 monthes and just love it.

I just purchased a used 2003 4310. for less that you wanted to spend. If you look around long enough, you will be ablet o find a good used tractor at a great price.
