Anyway to use my tractor to move water.

Might look for a trash water pump that could be adapted to run off the PTO.

This is compltely out of hand now. This rain will not quiet. I was seriously thinking of of fabing up a squeege for the loader and pushing all the water out to the street, Just don't want to tear up my lawn. Oooh wait a minute I don't have much of one now. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Love to, but can't find them. Is there any way to actually use the photo section of tractorbynet? I've given up on the photo section - I can't find anything in there.

Jay (still high and dry - mostly)

JBX is right. There are PTO powered water pumps available. This is probably more efficient than physically moving the tractor itself.

You guys are right... it can rain and flood and thats a royal pain. I am sensitive to your plight... didn't realize you were experiencing a 100 year type flood when I made my post. It is no fun to have flood water in your living quarters.

I am fully aware of the power of water and the distress it can bring. I grew up on a ranch with a river running thru it... thus constantly had to be aware of weather and possible flooding. I have often ridden horseback hard in the cold, rain, dark to round up cattle/sheep/goats off of the river before a flood arrived. My grandparents spent the night in a tree while a flood washed thru the house (it was rebuilt on higher ground). I have spent as much as two weeks cut off from being able to get to any town/doctor/groceries without electricity and phone because of flood and waters over the gravel river-crossing to the highway.

I've been there... which is why I always choose to have my house and pens out of the 100 year flood plain... and local flood prone areas as well.

I wish everyone the best possible outcome from the current rains in the north east.... send some of that rain our way!
