APPLE TV Gen III. Anyone else here lost their YOU TUBE?

Apple TV is simple. On off and very few buttons. The buttons do what they say.

You don’t need a smart tv, just one with an HDMI input.

Apple TV make your TV Smart. We don’t have cable because our local PBS station has a live feed on the Apple TV PBS app. It uses wireless Internet and the simple remote does not require line of site.

By clicking and holding the remote the apps will wiggle like your smart phone and you can move them around so you don’t have to fish for the 3-5 things you watch all the time.

For us it’s:
- AppleTV+ (free for 1yr w/Apple TV)
- Movies iTunes (slowly replacing our VHS/DVD library)
- YouTube (the invaluable learning channel)
- PBS (evening news and masterpiece theater)
- Prime Video (movies and binging series)

That was the first thing that screwed me on the III. I wanted to record programs on VHS for my DAD.

I have seen the icons wiggle on my I-Phone and just alwys figured it was just time to call it a night.

I don't do Apple, but can recommend the Amazon Fire TV stick. It plugs into an HDMI input, so you need a spare, and streams off the internet, so you need good service, but serves up an amazing amount of content. The stick is cheap, it's the content that costs you. I subscribe to Amazon Prime, HULU, HBO Max, and PBS Passport. YouTube, IMDB, etc. are free with ads.

Of course, I don't get Apple TV shows.

I really only care (wish I wouldn't) about Youtube. Nice thing about AppleTV is Ads were rather few. I think Lady friend is cancelling Left Flicks (Good ridense (sp?)).
