All the entry level guns will be about equal. I think DPMS had a rebate going on at one time. Not sure if it's still good ,or which models have rebate

If I were buying today, I would want a .223 Wylde chamber on my barrel. They shoot more accurately than the Nato chamber. I have heard good things about both brands.

Agreed. But it's hard to find an entry level gun in the Wylde.

But another option for the op, but a lower, buy a lower parts kit, buy a barreled upper and a bcg, and build your own. For $500-$600 will get.alot nicer setup than any of the manufactured options.

Rural King has a Del-Ton AR-15 on sale for $359.99. And a DPMS AR-15 for $399.99.

Are these guns any good?

Just wondering. Blind spot in right eye makes aiming a rifle very difficult BUT would like to have one just to have one.

What models?

I have a DPMS for my truck/tractor gun. It's worked very nicely for me. No complaints after 3 years and several hundred rounds through it.

Nothing wrong with either. Both make several different levels of guns.

IF you are looking at an entry level sub-$600 AR, there are about a dozen different ones to choose from. Rugar AR556, smith and wesson MP15 sport, the delton, DPMS has a few entry level, CMMG, core-15, bushmaster, windham, etc etc etc.

IMO, there really isnt much difference in any of the entry level guns. They are all carbine length DI gas systems, nothing fancy about the barrel, furniture, etc. About the same as you can get with different engravings to designate a brand.

When you start getting into upper level stuff, mid and rifle lengths, different barrels and chrome lining or nitrided , piston operated, etc. Then there becomes some differences. But for entry level, dont much matter.

+1. I build my own so I can add the exact barrel, trigger, stock and sighting systems. As long as the barrel groups well, all is good and everything else is personalization. I would make sure the upper and lower receivers are aluminum and not plastic on anything I purchase.

Other options,Rock river & Colt.Ar,s have really came down in price.

I personally would go with whichever is cheaper. The reason being, they are all modular. If there are some cheep made parts in it, replace them with better down the road. The aftermarket is huge on that platform for everything and they all fit eachother.
