My father had a '74 Panther and I am pretty sure that was Kawasaki powered... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

In the early 70's, Artic Cat had trouble getting enough engines to satisfey the demand for their sleds, so they used a variety of different engines. They even had a german made
rotary engine that had no pistons. It rotated like an electric
motor. It was called a Wankel Rotary. anyway in the piston engines; they used a lot of different suppliers. I had a couple
Wankels. Very powerful, but no real speed. 50 MPH tops.
You will have to check the make of engine that is in your sleds.
They may not be the same manufacturer. Hope this helps. GOOD
LUCK

I had a 70 & a 71 both had Kohler's 399cc and they were(engines) not woth a hoot. Kept blowing the cylinder jugs on them. Haven't had any snowmobils for over 30 years now.
