2014 John Deere 5055 E Cab
Hey everyone, First post, so please be gentle .. LOL

Here is the deal. I want a new, 65 - 75 HP 4wd with a cab, tractor, don't need one that big right now, just want it.

Love John Deere and the whole history .. Pride of ownership.. etc. So im looking at them, 5075E they have the nicest cab,
It's almost like a Pickup inside, But I am told they are not the same Quality as they used to be,

**** the Kubota salesman told me, and I quote:
They are assembled in the dirt, in India, Not even on a finished floor and since the switched production to India, there are multi problems END QUOTE
I don't believe that are assembled in the dirt, But I have heard from other people quality is not up to what it used to be... What do ya'll think ?

I have also looked at Kubota, Really liked the sound of that engine. Made me think Mack Truck
when I started it, It really sounded good. The cab was nice too. I still like the JD better tho

Also looked at the Mahindra Mpower 83 HP with the new Common Rail Diesel. Engine Sounded good 4cyln, Smooth, Big Heavy tractor. Cab and interior isn't up to the other 2
Great tractor stats on paper and I'm sure a good machine. But in my situation this is part tool, part toy, and I want a name brand.

So here are a few Questions I would like to submit to you guys.

1. Should I be concerned at all about JD quality now ?
2. Is there any draw back to buying a Cab tractor other than cost and stay away from trees ?
3. Is a 4 Cylinder Tractor better than a 3 ?

Thank You

If you decide on a Bota don't buy it from him. Any salesman worth anything will not talk bad about a competitor.

I like JD also, nothing wrong with that. I'm always concerned with quality. There have been maybe 3 or 4 people on the forums that have had some hydraulic heating/melted fuel tanks with the smaller 5xxxE's. Considering the 1000's per year that they sell, maybe that's not a big deal. BUT....If I were to get an "E", I would be inclined to get a bigger one, like the 5085E, which is made in the US. I would much prefer the 5xxxM though.
The only advantage that I can think of with the open station is if it's a chore type tractor involving livestock...Your not climbing in and out of a cab to open gates, and tracking manure in your new cab. Th visibility working around animals is better, and you can reach the controls standing next to the tractor if your grinding feed or running other stationary equipment.
I would prefer a 4 cylinder over a 3 because of smoothness. (another reason to get a 5085E)

When the 5003 series had it's run you almost never heard of any problems with them. I know the 5d/e are pretty much the same thing as the 5003 but I've read and heard about more problems with the d/e for whatever reason. Just make sure you understand that you are not going to get the quality of an "M" tractor at an "E" price. With that said my 5203 served me well for six hard years I had it. I now have a 5325(same as an M) and it's night and day difference.

The 5085E is US Made ???? I've read thru the brochure and all over the web site. Do you recall where you found this information out ?

Thanks

I'm sure they are, But the E is more tractor than I "need" So I better not even tempt myself looking at an M. I want the unit to be relatively mobil and affordable. Im betting the M is a much bigger tractor and Cost a lot more.

This is one source, not that tractordata.com is authoritative, but it's all I got at the moment. Talk to your dealer about it, he will fill you in.

Thanks again, But I think All E models are built in India. On Tractor Data click on the one for 5065 E and 5075 E It also says Factory: Augusta GA, Wrong.
Ive read elsewhere Models above 120 HP are US made everything else is foreign made.
