Yeah that sales guy was a little silly. Wouldn't buy anything from him.

I've chased vendors out of my shop for doing the same. I had one guy tell me that one product I had been using successfully for over 10 years was pure ****, and I should buy his instead.

I would prefer a 4 cylinder over a 3 because of smoothness. (another reason to get a 5085E)

Actually, a 3-cylinder is better balanced than a 4, and will be smoother! 4-cylinder engines are inherently unbalanced. Most automotive 4-cylinders of larger displacement require balance shafts to tame them.

Yep, I've been in sales all my adult life. When you tear a competing product down, Many times It has the reverse effect that the sales person is hoping for. It makes the sales person look dumb, desperate and dishonest.
Giving respect to competitors and showing the benefits of your product or service is the way to go.

My 3 cylinder yanmars shake allot worse than my 4 cylinder JD Powertech, but I suppose there could be other design factors in play besides the number of cylinders.

At this point all you need is a push.... buy the deere its the only one that will make you happy......
But I will tell you that in Rural TN where money is tight I see mostly Large kubotas in these hay fields because they are lower cost of ownership. But in Ohio Large JD anything rules those fields

The 4 cyl Cummins in my Branson is extremely smooth even if it does have/doesn't have a harmonic balancer.

From the ground to my flat floor is one step off the ground. I easily get into and out of the cab; no more of a problem than an open station. Actually better as the door has a horizontal bar across it which is right where I can use it for an arm rest getting out and a support handle while getting back in.

On operating controls from the ground from either the right door or rear lift up, pneumatic swing up rear window I can reach all controls. My JD 4230 was a row crop and much higher even though it had a wide front end. Getting in and out was another step. It was too high off the ground to reach any of the controls.

I have no problem with visibility from the cab and if I need more I can open a door or rear window and have a better look. I even have an additional glass so that I can see the drawbar connection from the seat without opening the rear window.

The cab keeps you and all your controls out of the environment in which you are operating. I really found my JD cab enjoyable and when I retired and sold off my big stuff and bought this little 65 it was going to have a cab. I wasn't sorry and the money I spent for it is long gone but I have the cab to enjoy.
