Are hummingbirds running late?

Only saw one this year, it was maybe 2 weeks ago... I have not put out the feeder yet, been busy on other projects but really should be putting some out maybe tomorrow I can get them set up...

Good Morning 8N Ren,
We have had them for the past several weeks, we always have a feeder out in front of the porch in Kathleens' rock garden. Just love watching them in the morning with a cup of coffee !

All is well. Hummers first showed 04-17….but numbers was not there, until today. Now suddenly, we are covered up, like in prior years. I do think it is late for the 'numbers' to show for what reason I have no idea.

These are the only ones I've seen all year. I'm hoping it's still early and they will show up end of the month of September.

We're being invaded by Hummers! Population has tripled this week. (Mid-Georgia) Migration must be going on... does that indicate an early winter?

Still have hummingbirds in south central Iowa. Had frost Saturday morning so I expected that they would leave before then. Filled the feeders again, so we'll see if they're still there when we get back to the acreage next weekend.

Saw some rather white roofs along hwy 2 Saturday morning on the way to Blakesburg!

We still have at least two Hummers here in north central MO. ~~ Lowell

The fall migration has begun to taper off here in northeast Texas. For the past 3-4 weeks we've had 50 or more hummers at our 7 feeders and we were averaging refilling 3-4 feeders with 3-cups of sugar-water each day. For the past two days, it has slowed to refilling only 1 or 2 feeders each day with only 2-cups of sugar-water. Our hummingbird season lasts from mid-March to late Sept/early October and we usually feed about 120-lbs of sugar each year. Yes, we do keep a count of how many bags of sugar we use each year feeding hummers.

There are still 2 or 3 hanging around our feeders. They were here at first light this morning.
That's kinda amazing as cold as it has been here. I expected them to leave as soon as it started getting below 50 at night.
