Are Montana Tractors made in Montana?

What about Dairy Queen "cakes"???

Ask 100 people on the street what "cake" is, not one is going to say ice cream in a circle, with "happy birthday" written on it.

I guess a company that makes urinal cakes, can writer happy birthday on them now, and sell them as birthday cakes.

Montana went bust two years ago? I thought they bought was it Farmtrac less than that time wise.

As to the Mitsubishi engine have one in a Volvo excavator and so far very pleased with it. But do notice a lot in Dodges that smoke. Is it due to diesel and gas differences or maintenance or something else.

To me a lot of what I read was the disappointment of another person realizing the USA is loosing much of what we were.

From what I understand Montana did but Farmtrec and that is why LS stoped selling to them. I guess that when Farmtrec went under and was being sold off that LS and Montana were both bidding against each other on the plant and Montana won the bid. But in winning they pissed off LS and lost there tractor manufacturer. That is the short of it as I understand it. I am sure there is more and that someone will correct me but that is what I was told.

As far as Mitsubishi goes you get some good ones and you get some bad ones with every manufacturer of everything made. (and that is my opinion nothing more and I have the right to have one!)

As far as the disapointment could be. There are so many jobs that have left and so many people that that has hurt, I can understand.

Great, now i have to go to 31 flavors and get an ice creme cake. And if you want a urinal cake, just buy any hostess product.

Never considered a urinal cake and a Hostess product in the same arena. I always called them deodorant blocks....

I heard somewhere that Hostess Twinkies 'mature' in the wrappers. I'm amazed that they are always consistent in color, texture and taste (no taste, like pasteboard).

Dargo's comment about Kubota is a sort of truth. Kubota manufactures all their attachments on US Soil and the smaller units, but all the engines come in containers from Japan. The medium frame tractors and the large frame tractors come across the pond in containers without wheels or tires and are finished in Georgia. Small Deeres are assembled in Horicon, Wisconsin with sourced components (from other countries). Medium frame Deeres are all about Europe as are NH. Large frame tractors in the Deere line are assembled here. NH is all European, mostly Itallian.

If it wasn't for NAFTA and out policy of non-protectionism and suffocating rules and regulations imposed by self-serving burecrats, we might actually have a manufacturing base in this country. As it stands, we don't as evidenced by high unemployment, large percentages of people on the public dole and a generally dysfunctional central government for which the blames rests not on the politicians themselves, but on the people who elected them and have allowed them to destroy this country, you and me.

Keep that in mind next November.

Does this mean that Harbor Freight's Pittsburgh tools might not be made in Pittsburgh PA? ;)

The next time you are at a NH dealer check out the tag right front of the frame on the smaller NH's they are made by LS. I think it's only like 2 or 3 models they started making them in 2010.
I wasn't sure it was true when I heard it, so at the last county fair I looked and sure enough it was true. We found two of the models there were made by LS out of the 8 models that were there but many of these were much larger sizes. I can't remember the model numbers right now sorry.

Whew, a LOT of misinformation in this thread. It would take quite a while to dispel each mistake with documentation, which I haven't the time nor desire. Then there are several opinions I personally disagree with, but those are just opinions to which everyone is entitled. First, no, Yanmar does not make John Deere tractors. Yanmar is an excellent company that produces world class quality products. However, they don't have much to do with JD any longer. Even when they did, and I had one of their fantastic 870 tractors, only the smaller JD tractors were Yanmar made. Never all of them.

No tractors under 45 hp are made in the U.S. Hmm, not true. Here is just one example, taken from their website, Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA) was formed in 1988 as Kubota痴 North American manufacturing base. KMA manufactures and assembles Kubota lawn tractors, zero-turn mowers, sub-compact tractors, loaders, backhoes and other implements. The company employs 1200 workers. Two master buildings offer 616,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Today, one-third of all Kubota branded equipment sold in the United States is manufactured or assembled at its 151-acre Gainesville, Georgia facility.

Opinion wise, I'd rather have an Iveco engine than Mitsubishi. I've owned and worked on several Mitsubishi powered vehicles, forklifts, man lifts, and various other industrial pieces of equipment with Mitusbishi engines in them and, IMHO, Mitsubishi is just a different way to spell Yugo. Again, opinion, as opposed to previously dispelled statements with facts. I'd not worry about Iveco. "Iveco, an acronym for Industrial Vehicle Corporation, originally an alliance of European commercial vehicle manufacturers such as Fiat (including OM and Lancia Veicoli Speciali), Unic and Magirus. Iveco is now an Italian truck, bus, and diesel engine manufacturer, based in Turin. The firm is a subsidiary of Fiat Industrial, having been demerged from the Fiat Group at the start of 2011, and produces around 200,000 commercial vehicles and 460,000 diesel engines annually, and for the year ended 2007 the company had ?11,196 million in sales (revenues).

Today the company is a significant player in the medium-duty trucks and engine markets, and is near the top for sales of passenger transport and 3.5 ton light vehicles".

I will debate on of your statements: Where did anyone say no tractors under 45 HP were built in the United States? If you were referring to my statement,I did not say that.I said that I was "not aware" of any tractors under 45 HP built in the United States and suggested that they check the plate to identify the country where it was made. I should have been a little more clear. I do not consider Kubota an American brand,I was referring to any American brand made in the USA,under 45 HP.I do thank you for your info on the Kubota plant in Georgia.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only who took some exception to that post.
