Re: Are \"NorTracs\" Jinma\'s?

Dave, I bought the 2425 at the Burlington NC Homier tent show with no attachments for 5699 about 2 weeks ago. If you let those folks know in advance what you want, they will cut you a deal. But I'm not sure if they carry the 20 hp with 4wd.

Re: Are \"NorTracs\" Jinma\'s?

Hi Dave, I bought a 2425 Farm Pro at a tent show 2 weeks ago in Burlington NC. Got a real good deal and if you tell these folks you want a tractor before the sale they will discount them even more. I would preferred to buy from a dealer but the only one around is a used car dealer and he only takes orders for delivery sometime in the future! The tent show people seemed to know thier tractors and the guy I have talked to at Homier seemed very well informed. So all and all I'm pleased--so far.

I figured out how to load the profile. There are several more of these Agracats available, some 25 HP and some 30 HP all have the Koyker 160 FELs on them. The 25 HP are $8881.00, I believe he is selling the 30 HPs for about $1500.00 more. let me know if interested.

I suggest you check out Emerybuilt at http://www.emerybuilt.com/. 815 Bedford Street, Chesapeake, VA 23322 PHONE: 888-603-4510

These are Jinmas too, and he puts them together well nicely and offers the newer XLS model. I started out looking at the Nortracs and came very close to buying the Emerybuilt since they were about $1500 less. However, my wife convinced me to take advantage of New Holland's warrantry and financing instead so now I drive blue.

Regardless, I am convinced Emerybuilt is a better deal than the Nortrac.

Re: Are \"NorTracs\" Jinma\'s?

There was a time that if you bought a China tractor you were basically on your own when it came to repairs. This has changed drastically. I did my research and purchased a crate unit from Glenn at Coastal tractor. All I can say is I am completly satisfied and would recommend him to anyone. I am not the only one that has purchased from him either and we all concur with the deal as well as service we received. Since my initial purchase of my 224, I have purchased an additional 4K worth of implements(FEL, turf tires) from him and will soon do some more. Like I said I am not the only one, I know of one guy that must have spent 6K since his purchase with Glenn since his Jinma purchase.

HARRY:

be very carefull if the 224 (4 wheel drive) when changing from ag to turf tires I BELIVE you also have to do a GEAR CHANGE due to the ag/turf tire ratios are not identical... or else when using the turfs you have to stay in 2 WHL DRIVE ONLY or else you will BIND the drive line and twist the front drive shaft in two. it has happened already to others. they had 254 though I belive and I'm not sure but I THINK the 224's have smaller AG tires and that the ratio MAY be the same? I would MEASURE them to be sure... use a flat hunk of non-strechy fabric and roll around each tire make a mark for front and rears and compair them in size to the turfs for same ratio.

Re: Are \"NorTracs\" Jinma\'s?

Spiker, thanks for the warning.
I think I might be okay. My 224 was ordered with the bigger tires that the 284 uses. (front 6.00 - 16) and (rear 9.5 - 24). The turfs are (front 26 x 7.5 - 12) and (rear 11.2 - 20). When I say I think I might be okay I mean I "hope" I'm okay. Maybe I should check circumference just to be safe. I know of one guy that has identical machine and he has put turfs on his and so far no problem. Could be, its the ones with the smaller tires that have to change gear ratios. At least thats what I hope. Again, thanks for the warning.
Regards, Harry

Re: Are \"NorTracs\" Jinma\'s?

The NorTrac 30 and 40 HP models have folding ROPS.

The 20 and 25 HP models do not.

Re: Are \"NorTracs\" Jinma\'s?

Harry:

I was told that my 284 would require a gear change by the factory when I was looking for turfs vs ags... I wanted to buy turf rims and install R4's the cost was difinatly prohibitive as well as then the gear change too...
also wanted to say you CAN use a chaulk mark on the tire, mark vertically using a 24" square on sidewall then mark on flat garage floor, the start and stop for one rotation, measure the distance using std steel tape, and compair size ration. divide small tire lenght into large tire lenght to get ratio...
