Ford/New Holland 1920
Hi,

I have a Ford/New Holland 1920 with MFWD. Rear tires are 14.9 x 24 on 6 loop rims. Tires were loaded and therefore my left rim is about rusted through. There are some John Deere rims and tires available. Tires are the same size. Anyone know if the JD wheels would fit on my F/NH? Thanks.

They should fit if they are loop wheels. The spacing the loops are welded on at might be different.

Almost all of the rims are interchangeable. Not the center bolt pattern but the rims sure are. If you were closer, I'd sell you a set of Kubota rims that would fit on your 1920. I've switched them for many years.

14.9x24 rims for a 1920 are not the typical bolt circle between the rim and disc. I believe the difference is 1/4" or so. I have replacement 12x24 rims built that are loop style and fit a 1910 and 1920 center. They have traditional loops and require longer carriage bolts then the original rim but the same as traditional loop style rims.

New Holland's current 'solution' is a rim & center combination, but the rim is only 10" wide which is inadequate for a 14.9 tire. I have one of these in stock waiting to go back to NH on a monthly parts return.

Thanks, I wish I was closer as well.

Are your rims six clamps for the disc to mount? I replaced my rims on a 2210 Ford/NH and might still have the paperwork where I ordered them.

Wish I was closer as well so I could sell these. Ironically, I used to live north of Bangor. Not that I went to the western mountains much but there's a pond between you and Standish that I used to catch smallmouth bass in.

Sixdogs, These are not mine but they look like these. square hole flat flange for carriage bolts. s-l1600.jpg Couple of lakes between me and Standish but the Saco River is my fishing spot.

2210 is likely to have a more common generic pattern. The change was made when the original Boomers came out ( 1630, 1925, etc) about Y2K.

Titan Wheel and Rim has a master chart listing Tractor Tire Size, Approved Rim and Alternate Rims for R1-R4 Tires. I located it with a simply web search. Hope it helps...

I can't find this chart. Do you have a link or can you tell me what you typed in?

Did you ever find new rims for your 14.9 x 24 tires?
For 14.9 x 24 tires, the recommended rim size is 13 x 24, but there are none of those rims available. (you might find a used one).
I bought my Ford 1920 18 months ago, and both 13 x 24 rims were bad (loaded with CaCl).
I bought two new 12 x 24 rims from Miller tire, and they are for use with either the 13.6 x 24, or 14.9 x 24 tires.
I bought two new 13.6 x 24 tires to keep my wheel track width inside my 60" tiller width.
I kept my old rusty 13 x 24 rims, and the 14.9 x 24 tires, but don't know if I will ever use them again.
