Are the REALLY OK or are they crap?

I have 110 hrs. on my Jinma 224. It has paid for iteself twice over in bobcat and chipper rental fees.

There have been a few user induced maintenance issues, but all-in-all I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

There's a wealth of information on these in various forums. TBN is one, there are two others.

Here's a link to my personal pages on Jinma Maintenance .

Hey Joe,
I have 12 acres in south LA. w/large trees. Been pushing logs brush, trash.dirt etc. lifting heavy equiptment and totally abusing this 35 hp. KAMA with no problems. Friends with blue and green machines have as much or more problems than my little red one....
Just my 2 cents,
Joe

<font color="blue"> I've been looking around a bit and I've found this:
Locally a dealer wants $5000 for a MF-135 without power steering.
A place in GA has a package deal of a Mitsubishi with trailer and cutter and some other stuff for $5000.
Another place in AL has a Zen-Noh for $4000. Supposedly a Kubota?
So many to choose from. Any suggestions for me?

I have now owned my Jinma 284 over 6 months. I do not know all that much about tractors but I have had a number of people come over to look at it and they are tractor owners and experts. Their comments were very favourable. Very solid, massive structure, easy and accessible to repair. Yes there were a few bolts missing and yes you need to inspect the welds and the tightness of the bolts, but for someone like myself who enjoys doing these things it is a nice toy. So far it has been awsome. I will tell you more when the snows come.

Since you've already decided; just one suggestion. Ask the owners of "real" tractors how they feel when they have an "unexpected" mechanical failure. It may seem like a slim possibility too some, but those "real" tractors do break. Someone said that it has as much to do with the operator in many instances as the tractor. I think he's right. Good luck.....

I have over 70 hours on my Jinma 284 and I love it. It is a simple basic tractor and very easy to work on. It's weight and ability make it a real brute for it's size. I do all my own vehicle work anyway so maintance and repair is not an issue. parts availability was my only concern when I started my research but there are many parts sources available. I would say these machines are probably not for the "plug and play" set, atleast not without good dealer or mechanic assistance close by. If you are reasonably mechanically inclined and not afraid to get greasy and ask an occasional question on these boards, and able to operate a machine within it's design limits, I think they are a very economical way to get a very usefull tool.

If you have money to burn then get the big name tractor. if you like to do a few little repairs here and there and think its worth saving thousands then go chinese.
I am on my 4th chinese tractor. Never had a problem that i couldnt fix in less than an hour. just always usually little annoyances due to some cheesy assembly or a non critical part failure like a guage or hose.
If you go chinese spend a couple hours walking around with a wrench checking that stuff is tight. if something loosens up use loc-tite

Is that a 6-pan disk? if you don't mind telling, who sells it and how wide does it cut? Thanks!

If you do your homework you will find that most tractors under 90 horse power are chinese or japanese made including the big three. Just a thought , Robby
