Are there Different grades (strength) for V-Belts?

I buy my belts at Advanced Auto and they have a heavy duty belt that lasts a long time on my TroyBilt (with a Sears label). I will get the part number tomorrow. They are blue in color. The belts that I got from Sears would only last a couple of a couple of chipping sessions.

I started using the blue belts about four years ago and I have only replaced the belt once.

I believe the brand is Stern (sp?). Entirely blue in color and it appears to be jacketed with a dense mesh for strength..?

The chipper was a gift so I didn't get an owners manual etc with it. I just researched and found the recommended size on the 'net.

Seems like Stern is the strongest as well as one of the most expensive.

I used to burn up belts on a walk behind rototiller. Then I found some kevlar based belts. I haven't changed one in several years.
