Are there tricks to taking blades off Finish Mower

I used that same mower to cut the grass around the acreage I use (I cut his grass and he lets me do whatever I want down there) I use the impact or I've used a block of wood between the blade and the deck. My problem is trying to keep the dang blades on the thing. Kept snapping the bolts off in the spindle, but I guess that can be expected when you use a finish mower as a brush hog. The last time I told him we needed a proper brush hog and went in half on a new one, I love that thing for pushing back the encroaching popular and willows, especially with the hydraulic top link.

I dont know anything about a finish mower, but I did get a good laugh at my neighbor the other day. He has a longarm mower and was wanting to change the blades. He called me up and said he needed me to torch the old bolts out because he had already broken 2 big breaker bars. He brought the mower up to my shop, along with new bolts. I took one look at the new bolts and asked if he knew the bolts had left hand thread on them. The look on his face was priceless. He had been trying to tighten the bolts the whole time. I took my impact and spun the old bolts out in just a few minutes. I bet he doesnt make that mistake again.
