Are You a Redneck or just the opposite?

You should be proud of the term "redneck", this term was used as a derisive and derogtory term for the striking coal miners who were marching to washington, they wore red bandanas as a symbol of solidarity, (they faught and won by the way) excuse the spelling.

Obviously there several knotations of what a"redneck" is......
I am proud to consider myself a redneck by MY definition!
Rednecks get things done, they do not let a shortage of funds or materials stop them if there is any way, that's how it will get done!
Rednecks don't necessarily have or rely on formal education ( although the collage graduate variety seam to be helpful too) thinking outside of the box is a talent ! Do not confuse education with knowledge or comon sense!
Rednecks don't rely on the government to for anything ( not to be confused with white trash) we much prefer the gov stay out of our business , building codes, owning firearms,making moonshine or whatever.... If it doesn't effect anything outside o my piece of dirt then it's NOYB!
Rednecks help other folks as a course of life , we watch out for our neighbors, if folks are struggling with something we will be right there to lend a hand you don't hafta ask.
Rednecks , know how to make the best of any situation. We don't say we can't, when life hands us lemons we make lemon aid. we change plans instead of scrapping an event .
Rednecks usually have a great sense if humor and have no problem laughing at ourselves as long as we're not being disrespected, dismissed or discounted.

I actually think we should replace congres an the senate with rednecks, we know a thing or two about living within our means and not wasting stuff,

About the only thing this whole thread has decided is that there's a huge set of differences in the definition of redneck, a big pile of different theories and traditional lore as to the origin of the term, and that a lot of people out there have a real chip on their shoulder and are complete and total arrogant asses when someone happens to subscribe to a different regional or cultural assessment of the term.

In all seriousness, A redneck isn't someone who comes from any one particular culture or society of people, A Redneck can come from all cultures, and to best describe one, is to say he/she can be the kindest person who you'll ever meet but one who doesn't take any Flack ,
Is a person who says what he means , means what he says and is ready to back it up as well, Do we know anyone who fits this description? ..... well if you do then you personally know a Redneck,

The amazing thing was the girl at the drive-thru wasn't even phased that I pulled up on a tractor. She just reached up a little higher than usual to hand me my coffee and off I went.

Now my city friends call me a Redneck but the Good-ole boys think because I have all my own teeth I must be a citiot. I run a fine line down the middle somewhere.

Yup! I'm a REDNECK an proud of it. i would reather drive back roads then them there city roads. i like my country music loud. i also have a shotgun,rifle an a 45!!
