WOW I've been reading the posts on this L48 w/self leveling loader etc etc. If you guys will just be open minded and go check out the new DK series Kioti's you will be impressed. Then when you price them you'll really be impressed. Kioti is having no probs with their self-leveling loader. You can buy a DK 45 with the 1590 self leveling loader(4000 lbs breakout at pivot pins) with a subframe mounted 8 1/2 ft hoe ( to 2ft flat bottom) for about 28000 maybe less. Granted you will give up Hydra for a sync'd shuttle and trans and a couple of other things(pivot seat would be the biggest thing) but......is loyalty really worth that kind of money. Add around 1500 to 2000 and get the DK50. I know I know y'all can flame away now. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

I'll wait till Kioti has a proven track record to match the blue, green and (other) orange guys.

I was considering ALL makes/models in my area when I was buying. This excluded Kioti however as there are zero dealers in our area. None. Zilch. Zip. Hard to make inroads in the market when no one will pick up the line in the area.

I looked at the Kioti before I purchased my Kubota. Sure the price was better however, the dealer where I looked at the Kioti stopped selling them just a short while later. That dealer was 70 miles away the next one was 30 miles or so more.

The tractor was a nice looking well made unit, but my fear was how would I get service and parts if and when it was necessary.

However the main reason for purchasing the Kubota over the Kioti was re-sale value. The Kubota has a proven retained value, which I am sure Kioti will enjoy at some point.

It was necessary for whatever tractor I purchased to hold it's value for my wife's sake, if anything happens to me I wanted a tractor she could sell easily and regain as much of the original price as possible.

Kioti's will prove themselves as time goes by and more dealers will be picking up the line as they become more popular. Kioti's will experience problems from time to time also just as any mechincal thing will. It will be a good thing to have two shades of Orange out there along with the true Blue and the mean Green, with the Red, Yellow, and Purple too.

Yes and No. Because one chooses a Kubota L48 over the JD 110 or a Kioti which I have never seen a dealer for in my area either and have 3 Kubota dealers in my immediate area, hardly makes my purchase one done soley out of loyalty. In fact, this is my first Kubota so how can I be loyal to something I have never owned? The best price is not always the best deal. I'm not suggesting Kioti is not a good tractor just because it is cheaper, but then it's not a better purchase just because its cheaper either. If its any good and can be supported it may succeed, for now, even with a minor issue with the hydraulic self leveler on my L48, its still an outstanding machine. Rat...

Yup, and I wouldn't have bought one of those either, way back then. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Actually, I think people are making purchase decisions based 100% on what they think is good for them. It has nothing to do with loyalty or trying to help kubota - it's all about what's going to be best for the buyer. I know that's how I look at it. I couldn't care less about Kubota or JD or any of them. I want what's going to be best for my needs. I think this is pure capitalism

What do you suppose the Kioiti would cost IF it offered the proven Hy-Dro Trans of the Kubota and the couple of other "things" that the other Brands offer?Would it (Kioti) be such a steal then?
