Hayden, that is exactly right, very well stated. I did not make my decision in haste and blind passion for a particular brand. You are so right, it is Capitalism at its best. Thanks for reminding us. I will buy what I determine to be the best for me. Not only is it very important, but quite frankly, its a blast. We are very fortunate to live where this is an option. I have no passion for flag waving, let the better product win, be it US made, European, Asian or Martian, Rat...

Exactly, whatever works best for each individual. There is a Kioti dealer that has opened near me and has been in business now for about a year,I've stopped by and looked, everything looks pretty good (and i've seen a bunch of em' around) but I personally need a heavy duty machine, that has good loader capacity and a heavy quick-detach hoe and nobody other than Kubota has addressed these issues (we'll see what JD brings to the table).I think since this is the case they kinda think they can put out a machine like the L48 with a not so perfect self leveler ,sell it to lots of people and maybe get away with it.I have had a bunch of Kubota stuff (because it fit a need I had better than anything else out there) but if somebody came out w/something better I'd buy it.

Ob1Kioti,

Kioti will enter the mindshare of compact tractor fans just as Kubota did. In the meantime, the resistance, some justified, some not, goes with the territory. Accept it. It goes with being new at anything.

I accept it and encourage it. After all this is over with, Kioti will be stronger because of it. You know that underdog thing/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. People will say "I remember when Kioti first came over here" etc etc. I was mistaken I guess you guys are much more open minded than I thought...........I think I'll go over to the J-D section I know they're closed minded/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Just kiddin.........maybe./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Ob1Kioti,

I looked at Kioti after I bought my Deere. I liked what I saw.

The reason I bought a Deere was because I thought and think the resale will be good if for some reason I encounter financial difficulty.

What I think is interesting is what places like TBN will for Kioti. These places must be very influential. Just look at woodsmills posts! His posts made me take a day of vacation so that I could get tractor time.

The bottom line, I think, is the dealer network... Kioti's network is about 250 dealers... while Kubota's is over 1,000... that works out to a big time saving for parts, service, attachments, and all other dealer contacts with the Kubota...

I do think that Kioti's are good machines... but not yet at the same level as John Deere, Kubota, and New Holland. Would Kioti be right there if they had 1,000 dealers? Not really sure... but I would say that they seem to be trying to get there and they're growing at a very high rate now.

If Kioti can in 5-10 years increase their sales to get a 10% market share (they have about 2-3% of new tractor sales now) then I think the hesitation associated with buying a Kioti will be much less... but at the same time, one of the very reasons for that hesitation will have to be solved for them to reach that level... and that is their dealer network. And for them to get there, the advantages to buying a Kioti (namely price) will have to remain.

They are increasing the size of the dealer network DAILY. But at the same time they are being careful about it. I believe they are going to be a major player in the compact tractor marketplace, just give them some time.

(the instigator in me)
So you say, give them some time, shortly after branding us as too loyal to consider what to you is the obvious choice.
We are giving them some time. When they have a hydro tranny, and all the other goodies that Kubotas have, lets compare and decide then. Until then, why compare aplles to oranges?

There are dealers close enough to me. KIOTI is my choice. I can do without the extras for the extra money!
I'm not asking you to compare apples and oranges. Compare Oranges to Oranges /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. Then compare price.

It would seem to me that you are the passionate one.
