Its not just me that feels that way about closing old threads for posting.
Personally, I don't think the problem is old threads one way or the other.
The root problem (if there is one) lies with the poster who revives the old thread.
If one updates an old thread, or adds something relevant to it, there seems to be no complaint.
The problem really lies with the person that resurrects a dormant thread by adding an irrelevant comment like “My tractor is brown and that works well for me,” or something similar.
I would be curious to know if a person who does this at this at TBN also converses similarly verbally “in real life.” You know, like when sitting with some friends over coffee at a monthly breakfast get together.
Discussion drifts to sports, then social security reform. Somewhere in the middle of the Social Security discussion, our friend interjects “I like the Eagles.”
Later the discussion moves to the ever-increasing price of steel. Our friend joins in with “I’m not sure about Bush’s SS plans.”
Can’t help but think that after a few breakfasts our friend might not be invited to sit at that table anymore. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Then again, we might just accept our friend for what he is and accept him as is... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
