Are You The Neighborhood "Fix-It" Guy?

Yes, I'm that guy in my immediate neighborhood. The neighbors on either side of me are in their 70's-80's (I'm in my 50's) so they think of me as "young and capable". I usually mow their weeds, trim their trees, trim the trees over our common driveway, run everything thru my wood chipper, etc. One on my neighbors recently fell and broke her wrist and the other just found out he has cancer so I've volunteered to bring their garbage cans to the top of the hill along with my own. The first mod I made to my BX 2230 was a "backrest" to the FEL to support moving stuff like that (yes, of course I posted pictures to TBN. )

So far they've been happy and rewarded me with bottles of wine instead of sueing me. This weekend I fixed the neighbor's mailbox. It's all good, more seat time for me. I used the tractor to bring my tools up to the mailboxes. :thumbsup:

I've hand dug an 8 ' deep trench for a widow. I've fixed just about everything that can be broken, except an aircraft. No one's ever asked me to do that. If I don't know how it works, I'll find out and then fix it. I don't accept payment since I have a good job. But I have traded for services such as haircuts. I am much less inclined to help out those who have trouble saying thank you or are simply lazy. cough BIL cough
