Well, it finally got me. Since my BX2200 was a later model (picked it up last September), and had the grease fitting on the pedal, figured the tank was fixed as well (dealer said it was). Just noticed I have a steady drip of fuel onto the rear of the left rear tire (as viewed from behind)... guess I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow.. arghhh.

Add my BX2200 to the list of leaking tank, picked mine up March 2002,was assured it was fixed by the dealer, well guess what??, its going back next week to fix the leak, same place as yours, I HOPE this is not an indication of a lemon for a tractor???

had the grease fitting on the pedal

What do you mean by that?
I have had my 2200 for about 2 mo's., 76 hours on it. No leak yet, just trying to understand about the zirc on the pedal.

Thanks,
Hootie

If you are sitting on the seat, on the left side of the pedal, look real close and you will see a zirc. In older models the pedal would stick down when you take your foot of the pedal. So they put a zirc fitting in, it is NOT in the operator’s manual, well at lease not in mine . I have a problem where the fitting will not take grease, so they will be looking at that too.

See Tom's post for the details, I have the zirc on the left side of the pedal pivot, very hard to get grease into, and the pedal is sticking anyway. I think there is another thread which indicates that the 'pedal' is sticking elsewhere, not at the pivot. I'm going to ask the dealer to look at that as well, they are coming tommorrow to get the tractor. They seem to think it's the fuel guage attachement to the tank.

I'm the one that started that thread [click here=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=owning&Number=162059&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1#Post162059]. Breakfree sprayed on the control shaft entering the transmission fixed the problem.

Not to worry, the fuel tank repair is fairly simple and should be the only problem you encounter with the BX. Good Luck...Tractorman

Yea that is if they have the part, my replacement tank been back ordered, going on 3 weeks! Guess this must be a REAL problem if they can not keep tanks in stock! Good thing the grass is dead since we have had no rain in a while.

Waiting for a tank in NJ......
