That browning was a nightmare from the beginning.
It jammed 4x again later at the range. That rifle never should of been sold. The one I have now in 308 is a sweet shooter it groups real nice at 100 yds and doesnt jam.
I think the M1 garand was a really good design, just look at the mini 14 and how sucessful that has been for ruger.

Murph, are you sure you didn't travel from Minnesota to Illinois just to mess with me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. That was a "good day"! I got the RTV stuck twice crossing the creek (thank goodness for winches), missed the trophy buck and managed to catch a cold. A pretty full day if I do say so myself, but I did have fun, got a button buck (thought it was a doe) and I saw the 10 point buck again from afar. He is still out there and I still have one permit. Next season in December I will try again, that is the fun of it.

I traveled north last week-end to go visit a bunch of guys deer hunting. I don't hunt myself but I just went up to their cabin to be stupid.

That's my story and Im stickin to it.
