In a couple more years you'll be able to see the real thing. They're moving north. Last one I saw (road Kill) was just south of St. Louis.
We have friends in the Midland Tx area that say there are two things you hear at night. The shotgun blast and then someone yelling did you get the SOB.

Most of the time they only come out into the garden at night to mess up the landscape, but our three Scottish Terriers can hear them rooting around outside in the garden and they all go nutz in the house, letting me know they are on to them. A flashlight and a Browning Hi-Power dispatches them immediately. I managed to do a double tap just last week, culling two with one shot the other night about 11PM. Use hollowpoints.
