We have had an armadillo digging our yard up since we moved in our new house in Sept. It always seemed to show up the early morning hours before sun up. I could not stay awake that long so I let it go. The other afternoon this winter my wife seen something moving in the woods. I took a look and it was an armadillo. I got the 12 guage out and loaded it with some number 7 shot and took aim. I blasted him good but did not kill it. It ran for cover towards me and made that it's fatal mistake. I took aim at close range and it didn't have a chance. I did'nt have any heavier shot so I used what I had, just bird shot. After killing the animal I felt kind of sorry because I took it's life when all it was trying to do was survive like us all. Maybe next time I'll just throw rocks at one.

All it is looking for is grub worms, you can dust/spray your yard and they won't come back. We have lots of them in Florida
you can do a search on the armadillo and get lots of results here at TBN

Don't feel bad about shooting it. They make large holes/burrows that are dangerous and annoying in my pasture's and hayfeilds. If you ever have a horse step in one you'll really hate them.

I wouldn't feel bad either, we'll send you some from Texas.

You know a rat is just trying to eat to....no problem killing those. :D

I respect that statement.

I have one in the yard also, always digging here and there, he's become kind of a pet and a conversation piece for the city folk. Your in the country, their yard, where do you expect them to live?

The rats, well, my cat eats them whole, no waste. He also eats small adult dogs ronjhall!:D
