Hey that setup looks familiar. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I use a KK 6' blade behind my B2410, and just today I put on the OEM rear work light that I picked up from my dealer. This is my third season pushing snow with the rear blade and I can't wait to see what I'm actually doing. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The weatherman says we're going to get a plowable snowfall tomorrow afternoon and evening.

Is there a seatbelt hiding in that picture?

"WOW you use the MMM for snow removal, how does it work?? "

Here is a little story. This past October we had a few inches of snow in NH. That day Gilford High School was hosting a soccer playoff game. I was the referee. The field had no snow when I got there but it was wet and sort of muddy.

I asked the coach how they got the field plowed. He told me that the maintenance guy hopped on the lawn tractor they had with the belly mower and ran over the snowy field. It seems the mower blades sucked up the snow and blew it back out the discharge chute as water. Instant cleared field.

I have not plowed much snow. This is the most we have had since I have lived in this far north, desolate, frigid place /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. My driveway is mostly gravel and my side road to the shop is gravel as well. I use the back blade angled to the side and pushed the snow with the tractor going backwards. I left the blade in the forward position so that it tended to float above my gravel drive. The Position Control was INVALUABLE. These two things allowed me to plow off most of the snow without gouging the drive but twice. The main damage to the drive and my newly set culvert were done by my wife who litteraly jumped into the Jeep, opened the garage door, and flew down the drive in a straight line, which has a curve in it, and then went across the yard and into the ditch knocking down the property line marker /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. Yep, she was no where near the driveway, she was almost in the neighbors yard. Where was she going--a baby shower /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif--and yes---I am more than a bit aggavated /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Then I had to get the Tundra out and further tear everything up to pull her from the ditch. J

Could you do say that you were removing snow as a hobby in case that you had an incedent and if someone wanted to give you a donation you could accept it. Then I think that you would be covered by your home owners insurance.

Never thought of using my box scraper this way. Has anyone else tried it. Seems like it might bite into my asphalt drive. Also I can't angle it like your blade.

LateBloomer, my neighbor uses a boxblade with his Kubota L to push snow. He cleared another neigbors concrete drive and it left a few scratches. Just my opinion, but he made a mess out of his gravel drive plowing snow with the boxblade. For snow plowing all you need is a light duty back blade that can angle. No need to buy a heavy built unit just for snow. I plan to add a piece of 1/2 inch by 6 inch nylon to the cutting blade. I will make it removable so I can still grade with it. I really need skid shoes but the PC made it possible to float the blade an inch above my drive. Boxblades are great tools but I don't think snow plowing is their best use--could be wrong. J

Nice pictures:

I thought that in Kansas, with it being flat and all, the snow just blew into another state??

You look like a true Michigander with your wool toboggan on. I used to dress like that for snow chores. Now I wear a light jacket and enjoy my favorite country station on the radio. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
