Honda EU's are pretty much the standard kit for performance and quietness. Quite sure I read recently some guy was shot at a campground due to his Champion esque noise maker. Propane / Natural Gas Conversion Kits and remote starts are available. Yamaha's are similar.
i wouldnt doubt it. i hear that you can get knifed or shot waiting for a chicken sandwich at popeyes now days. never mind making noise in a campground.

A few months ago I sold my old trusty EU2000i as it would not run my A/C. I like to camp out west so normally it gets cool at night but sometimes you pull into a boondocking site and find the inside of the camper is taking forever to cool off. For about 700+$ I picked up a Champion 3400 single fuel (gasoline) which runs the A/C fine. Champion 3400 I think it is slightly louder than my old Honda. There seems to be no standard on decibel testing in the generator world so manufacturers should get a standard in place for decibel testing. It's also an inverter unit so I could parallel it if needed but can't imagine why i would ever need to do that. Outside of running the A/C or microwave I generally set out my folding 180 watt solar panels to keep my two 6 volt Trojan batteries charged.I almost scored a used Yamaha 3000 on FB Marketplace but he sold it before I could make it up there.

We have a travel trailer and often camp where there is no power. We like to be able to cool the trailer down sometimes so bought a Honda E3000i (maybe EU300i?). In any case, it is an inverter generator which means that it runs at a speed it needs to make the power requested. It doesn't use RPMs to determine output frequency so it is not running at 3600 constantly. It is reasonably quiet, but I prefer the sound of no generators running. I'm respectful of when I run it and don't run it for long periods generally. I bought mine used on CL for half what new costs and it had low hours, wheel kit and cover. Mine fits under my bed cover if I remove the wheels, so when we are camping, I remove wheels and cable it (secure it) in the back corner of bed. When I need to run it, I open bed cover enough to expose it, run power cord from trailer and run as needed.

There are many brands that have inverter now, including Harbor Freight Predator and Champion.

The other option is the generators that run at 1800rpms. They are quieter than the ones screaming at 3600 for sure. I was thinking of a Onan RV generator that came out of a motorhome.. I think it was 6500watts, ran at 1800rpm. Looked like it had a decent muffler so maybe nice a quiet. I could put some eyebolts on it and use the tractor FEL to load it into back of pickup when I needed it for camping.. but then again, the Honda runs fine (we also use it during power outages to keep the fridges/freezers/tv/internet/etc running..

Well gentlemen, i’ve Got some really credible information to investigate thanks to the TBN crowd.
It comes as no surprise that Honda frequently pops up as a desirable unit and I think i’ll Start looking at those units first off. Our former RV had an onboard Onan 6500 watt that was very satisfactory so will do a little digging in that sand box too.
Our camping season has ended for this year and i’m Hoping as the year draws to a close the dealers may be a little more willing to wheel and deal on equipment to boost their year end sales volume.

RV generators run at 1800 RPM for less noise, longer life, less fuel used, so keep that in mind, you don't want a 3600 RPM screamer..

Excellent advice, if you can find one that will not break the bank!

Sorry man no one wheels and deals on honda generators. I wouldnt even touch a used one. Around here at best you would be saving $2-300 on used vs new.

I got my Honda generator off CL, guy selling it had gone through divorce and they got rid of the travel trailer.. it had not been run in a couple of years, he changed the oil, but it surged (sped up and down constantly).. I paid $1400 for it, with wheel kit and cover. Took it home, put Seafoam and Lucas injector cleaner in tank, filled with fresh gas, connected to travel trailer, eco mode off, fired up air conditioner on trailer and left it running all day. it was running smooth after an hour or so and has been great since then (perhaps 8 years).. we use it for essentials when we lose power at the house..

When we had a fifty wheel - we ran a Honda 3000 generator. Nice unit - quiet, easy starting, always started. Fit nicely in the bed of the pickup, under the shortened tonneau cover. Only needed AC once. We motored thru Death Valley. A mistake - like an ice berg inside the 5th - like the ovens of Hades outside. Our stay in Death Valley was very brief.
