I'm very slow at measuring and cutting the notches so the boards will wrap around the posts. I messed up the first board. At approx. $45 for a 12' Trex board, that was a costly mistake. I told my wife I could patch it but she didn't want to. So I cut another board. This time I got it right.

Obed,

Try some SeaFoam Sea Foam Sales Company in the gas tank. It works wonders. Put some in the tank, crank the engine and let it run for a 30 seconds or so, and then cut it off and let the SeaFoam soak. It will dissolve the deposits in the carb. Mix it pretty strong.

It's kinda expensive, but cheaper than the time it will take removing and rebuilding the carb. I used some in a Pacer irrigation pump that I had left sitting for about a year with gas in it. It worked great! I have also used it in boat motors.

You can buy it at Walmart, Advance, OReilly's etc....

Chris
Chris,
I tried using the SeaFoam in the push mower's gas tank but wasn't successful. If I remove the air filter and spray carb cleaner in the carburetor the push mower will run for a second or two and then die when all the carb cleaner is used up. I don't think the carburetor is getting any gas so SeaFoam in the gas tank isn't helping. I guess we'll have to take the carburetor apart. Unfortunately, my in-house small-engine repair person is a little busy.

Yea that means your not getting any fuel, if it runs with spray thats what it means. Pull the carb, it ought to take 15 mins to get it off. I gaurentee you that you have junk clogging your highspeed jet and lowspeed jet.

A quick thing to try is to solidly tap the carb bowl with a screwdriver handle. This will "unstick" the float and needle valve. This is another possibility, if its stuck closed no fuel can get into the carb not allowing any fuel into the carb bowl. i have had this be the problem a few times, usually is not, but its worth a try as it takes no time and nothing needs to be dissasembled. Just tap, then try to start it.

We have been sleeping with the windows open for the past couple weeks during the wonderful temps we've been having. Yesterday morning at 3 AM I was abruptly awakened by a coyote howling in our back yard. It was close enough to the house to activate a motion detector and turn on the outside lights. Even with the outside lights on the varmit kept making a racket in our back yard. Of course every dog within a half mile was barking. After several minutes the noise finally stopped. Then again shortly before 6 AM my wife heard the coyote howling behind our house again. I slept through the second session.

Today our 2 year old girl dumped our old cat into a bucket of water. Then she carried the sopping wet cat into the litter box and rolled the wet cat in the kitty litter. The cat had kitty litter sticking to all parts of her. My wife was quite annoyed had to give the cat a bath. I was actually particularly amused. I do like our old cat and I don't want our girl to mistreat the cat. However, the whole scenario was rather humorous.

I agree. This is quite humorous...

Just as an aside, I have found that the best way to give a cat a bath is to use a container which is deep enough that the cat can not stand in it.

If the cat is swimming for its life, it is less interested in clawing the human giving it the bath...

Best way to give a cat a bath is go to petco and get a special bag that has holesthere claws get hung untied around there head then all you have to worry about is there mouth . But be careful a cat bite is more dangerous than a dog bite because the narrow teeth the holes seal the bacteria in the wound . And a cat has 7 different kinds of bacteri in there saliva. Much dirtier than a dog and actualy contains eboili.

Hi Jesse,

First off, you sure are right about cat bites- they can get horribly infected...

Did you mean E. Coli? Well, I guess it's possible...but the main problem is the little needlike teeth, and a bacteria called Pasteurella multiocida that is resistant to a lot of the usual antibiotics like Keflex (cephalexin), and require specific antibiotic coverage.

The main thing is, if you get a cat bite in your extremity (hands especially) get seen and on the right medicine asap.

I have seen people close to losing a limb in just 24-48hours after being bitten.

Eyup.... picked up the neighbors cat. Dog came out barking. Cat goes nuts, but I am afraid to let it go and the dog get it.

Irrigated the puncture wound and had the nastiest anti biotic shot in years. NO FUN. Again something not to mess with and try and man up over.... Which I had. The arm was swollen in the morning, made it hard to tell the wife I was OK. Boy was she upset....
