<font color="blue">I believe the name "Country Clipper" is new but they've been around for a long time.
</font>

I can't quite figure out where they concentrate their dealer network. For something based in IA, they don't seem very well represented in SD.

I'd heard of them, but have yet to see one around here. Of course, Dixon, has a pretty good foot-hold. Cub Cadet has really sold some ZTRs here the last couple years. Snappers; Danes; some JDs; a few Kubotas. And it seems, in these parts, Grasshopper means front mount and vice-versa.

For Clipper's history in ZTR's, it's too bad they don't do any direct sales. Maybe too many shipping or warrenty hastles?

<font color="blue">"are you SURE this is the DZ?!" </font>

Sigarms, I'm probably getting absent minded or something, but could you refresh my memory with the story on that or better yet, link the thread that would?

Yeah, you figure out how to post pix, and now I'm asking you to paste a URL. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"DZ" AKA "drop zone", a designated "landing" area where troops or material are "dropped" (sp?) from an aircraft.

What is the URL?

Yes, thought I had gotten a "good deal" on the machine.

As far as "percieved value", I don't think I could of gotten a better deal.

Talking with the local distributor of CC, he mentioned that a lot of "commercial" guys who are used to twin stick actually don't like the joystick control because they are not used to it.

He pointed out though that since "residential" sales of ZTR's are on the upswing, people who have not used a twinstick actually prefer a single joystick. After using my neighbors twinstick ZTR for two months, I "already" prefer the joystick. Think about it, your only using one hand to control the machine. Point and go.

Again, my dad loves it, so its "iceing (sp?) on the cake" so to speak.

I could of gotten a brand new unit shipped, 60" 27hp Kholer between $6,500/$7,000k.

For the price difference, I went with the unit I bought.

Looking over the unit closely last night, it is VERY well built (plus the flip up deck feature).

I agree with you, the unit is not well represented. Talking with the distributor, all dealers are independent, which in the lawn business, I have no clue as far as what that entails.

Most dealers I found were a "small shop". All the "large" ZTR dealers handled Scag, Exmark... (although the dealer where I went to also handled Great Dane and Ferris. But, just looking at the price "comparison" between these units made me lean towards the country clipper.

I might add that in my "research" of country clipper on different "lawn forums", I could not find one person who had a negative comment on the machine that they owned from CC.

I see now! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was thinking since you were shopping for ZTRs and Kubota makes a "ZD", maybe some other brand makes a DZ....then further: some unscrupulous dealer may have tried to sell you a lesser machine, but you caught his "bait & swith". Oh what happens when my imagination runs wild!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No doubt you choose well! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Forgot to explain how to post a link (URL: Uniform Resource Locator). Not that it matters to this particular situation: since there was no story along the lines of my imagination, there'd be no link to post, TBN or otherwise.

Anyway copy the address from your browser, then in your reply use the URL function under Instant Markup, and paste the address. Be sure not to double up on the http://

Hit OK, then be sure to give it a name [where it says "web page"]. OK again and you're done.

Thanks Spiffy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow, brings back memories of when I first moved here!

Had to laugh when I saw that I stated there was no way I'd buy a ZTR.

Well, it only took 6 months to spend some money on a decent mower, I'm afraid to think how long it will take me to actually buy a tractor now!

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thats half of the fun, All the research....

The other half of the fun is using the equipment , the bad part is paying for it!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Unless you can convince yourself "this thing is gonna pay for itself" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Spiffy, Notice the pivoting front axle /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif on Sigs new unit /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I think that was the first thing I seen!

That just isn't fair /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif; Sigarms got all the goodies he wanted, I had to compromise the pivoting axel. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I did get 150lb of steel that he didn't; of course, I'm convinced half of that is in the floor plate: maybe I need to lose a few pounds, but that thing could support 10 of me easy. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Actually, I have no regrets, but when the warranty runs out, I may just get creative on that front end. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
