We have a local steel recycling center that has lots of good stuff. You have to go and check it out fairly often, but I can get some really nice "scrap" for 35 cents a pound. I suggest you check out your area.
It works like this.
You want to buy a machine that will do what you think it will do.
When you go to the dealer he is going to try to sell a machine that you have never thought you could do with.
Now the fun begins!
Always remember that it is you that will be running this investment in your setup.
Do not let someone tell you what you want.
let someonne tell you that has been there what you should try

We don't have garbage service in our county.
But we have manned convenience centers for drop off.
The one nearest me the guy will let you dig thru the scrap metal bin.
You can find a lot of great stuff over there.
He'll even save stuff for you if he knows you are looking for it.
I go over ever now and then and poke around in it looking.
