Attachment for cleaning a lake bank??

Well, I was too late on the before pictures. Coming in from work on
Friday I swung in to get some pictures and the fella i've been speaking with about with the equipment had already started clearing around the lake and where the levey was leaking a little, had it dug out to the bottom. All the water was gone and at that point I was very happy. The lake is about 1 acre of surface area and I could have walked across it without going under. Well I shouldn't say that because i got out in the middle very carefully and probed it and I bet there is roughly 2 or 3 foot of muck. Our plan is to let it dry to mid-end of July and clean it out. Put a levey with a dry pond on the two places water enters so it will hold the silt and debris back. 20-20 you sound very knowledable about this matter also, thanks for the input

Well here we are in the middle of one of the longest dry spells in this area. No rain for quit awhile now. Need less to say, the lake bottom had cracks big enough to put your foot down in. We figured it was fairly dry so our friend with the kumatsu track hoe and dozer swung in to clean the lake out. Put the dozer down on the edge of the lake to start cleaning it out, dozer slide plumb in and was burried. Took another dozer and the track hoe to pull it out. In comes the long stick tomorrow. We figured it's got about 8-10ft mud out in the middle. Stuff would never dry out like it was.

When I was a kid, the guy who lived across the street (and downstream from our brook) hired a tracked crane with a drag line and turned a 1 acre mowing responsibility into a nice fish pond in a couple of days.

Cool, same goes for my father-in-law. He brought in a dozer and a small drag line unit and did his lake. It's about 2 1/2 - 3 acres though so i'm betting it took a little while to do it.

We set the long stick up on the levee earlier and will start tomorrow morning bright and early. 68' reach compared to 21' is quit a difference.
