Attachment GPM requirements VS. Tractor GPM output

I came across a used post driver that supposedly requires about 12GPM. My tractor manual (Montana 5740) says that it puts out about 8GPM. Will I have to pass on the post driver or can something be done to increase my tractor's hydraulic GPMs?

Nothing you can do to increase your output short of a new/larger displacement pump. You could use a PTO pump. Whether or not the implement will work at a lower volume is a different story. I don't know about post drivers but most hydraulic cylinders will work at lower flow, will just be very slow /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If it is the hydraulic up and spring wham down type it should work , will just go up slower.
