I bought a grapple and a set of forks from EA delivered to me in Maryland at no added cost above the stated price (2 day delivery i might add),
I guess i could have hopped in the truck and driven 10 hours and got a discount.lol
I was happy that they also included shipping in the price as well as all of the materials to make the product, but I'm sure if i supplied my own steel, welding rods, paint, etc. etc. they could have lowered the price even further.
Maybe Ted will change his wording to shipping included instead of free shipping for the couple of you that think it makes a difference in the final price.

The thought never once crossed my mind. Shipping costs for similar weight blades, from other vendors, seemed to hover around $300. I'm absolutely certain I could call, or e-mail, EA for the local pickup price and have them actually tell me.

All I cared about was the quality if the blade, and the final cost to be at the point I could take possession of it....nothing else really matters.

It worked great today...

This gives a better view of how much actually sticks out on either side when the blade is centered....glad I went with the 8ft model.

Perhaps it would solve the whole problem if they advertise as "Shipping Included" rather than free shipping. Personally I agree with you BandaidMD, all that matters in the end is your landed cost.

This is not just tomatoes vs tomaters, as you so simply put it, it is about significant amounts of money being spent for what is advertised as free shipping, which is all well and good, if that is ok with you.

Feel free to click that ignore button, as I'm going no where, and the only dog I have in this "fight" (truly no axe to grind) is truth, nothing more or less.

To use your idiom, feel free to pee up a rope, or pound sand, or whatever, you jumped in on ME regarding this, no one solicited your opinion, just like no one did mine, so we both have an equal right to express ourselves...

Of course you invited me in. You are casting a wide net with your false remarks against a reputable seller, who it seems, you have never purchased from. I, in contrast, have several times. If you don't like their policy keep your opinion to yourself, no need to cause trouble. And, you should drool over their products, they are extremely well made, and well worth the price. With or without "free shipping".

Show me a company that can sell something below cost (including shipping) and I'll show you a company ran by the government. Private businesses must make a profit. Free shipping, Free delivery, shipping included, etc just means that the price to ship it is included. I would think that anyone who has ever woke up in the morning, put work shoes on, and earned a living understands that to do an apples to apples comparison they need to include all the costs (shipping, tax, handling fees, etc.).

It's no different than a gas station offering a 5¢ off per gallon if you pay cash. They are not offering you a discount, they are just not adding in the fee the credit card company is charging them that they are passing on to you.

I sure do like that Massey!!!... And the rear blade on the back makes it that much sweeter!!

I plan on buying a heavy duty rear blade for my 231, but it won't be right now.

Since the negatives have been repeated over the weekend, I guess i'll do the same. Again, the purpose of this thread was not to debate ours, or anyone else's free or included shipping policy(however it's interpreted through the magnifying glass).

My intention of this thread was to inform you that our shipping is generally very reasonable, no matter how far away you are from us. I was prepared to receive negatives, and do not take offense....It is what it is!

The people that see our policy as intended have done a great job explaining the free shipping philosophy. It could be debated all day, everyday...sorta like pallets,:laughing: , but when it comes down to it, we do our best to provide you with the best value on the market.
