Ok, I'll try to keep this as short and to the point as possible, but still probably won't. I just purchased a JD 5115M, with an H310 loader with the global carrier attachment bracket. It's equipped with the 85" HD bucket as is, but I need (Ok, want) a root grapple attachment and a set of pallet forks. I have to rely completely on whatever info I can get online, as I won't be back stateside until June, so I can't actually see any of these attachments in person. I've read every thread I could find on root grapples, but none deal with the limited models available for the global carrier. I looked (online only) at the Frontier AV20G grapple, and their AP13G pallet forks, but the John Deere website gives almost no info, including weight or in the case of the grapple, even available widths. I'm assuming that this is so they can get you into a dealership and try to make the sale. Even my internet time is limited, so I can't spend all day trying to research things, and our server, which is based in the Phillipines, randomly either blocks sites, or just reroutes you to something completely unrelated. I'm not totally new to tractors, but I am definitely not a seasoned pro either, and I foresee myself tapping into the large knowledge (and opinion) base on TBN. Now to put that into a question. Anybody with firsthand knowledge of companies making attachments for the global carrier system, your :2cents: would be greatly appreciated. Other than my personal e-mail, TBN is the first site I check out when I'm able to get online. And by the way, when I read the posts about how guys are losing sleep waiting for the delivery of their new tractor, my new tractor will be waiting for me, as it will be delivered at least 4 months before I'll ever be home to see it. I'll have the wife in my driveway with a camera when it gets there. She won't be happy, but she's great (read that extremely tolerant) and I know she'll do it for me.

I just watched a youtube video and they disconnected a JD bucket and attached a W.R.Long grapple from the tractor. So they -W.R.Long- definitely makes one that works with JD. Seeing how you are limited on your research ability, I will dig around and see if I can find products that will work for you and build a list.

The most popular ones we sell for your tractor/loader is the Construction Attachments 1RG Xtreme Root Grapple or the WR Long OBG1 Grapple.
You can get either with the Global hitch on it. CA charges $125 build fee for that; WR Long does not charge any extra.

Shipping is free to a staffed commercial business or supporting freight terminal within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC.

We appreciate your service to our country!

I vote for ponying up the cash first to ditch the global carrier set-up all together. Sure you can find attachments for it but why bother when everybody and their brother makes SSQA (Skid Steer Quick Attach) attachments? I'm assuming that if you bought a 5115M that a grand or two wouldn't be that hard to justify to avoid all of the issues your going to run into when you actually start working (PLAYING!) with your new machine! I have no experience with the global carrier except that I paid the extra money upfront to avoid it and I have no regrets about it. They have higher capacity/HP machines that use it than my lil 83 hp tractor.

If my computer screen was an actual catalog, I would've worn it out looking at the EA site. You guys really do have everything, and seem like the type of people (down to earth, tell it like it is, and treat people right) that I want to do business with........and will. Besides the Loader attachments, I'll need to replace my light duty 3 pt. attachments with some heavier duty versions. Rake, blades (rear and box) will need to be upgraded, but unfortunately, so does my bank account. I really wish I could watch the videos on your site, but our bandwidth is so low (remember dial up) that I can barely read my e-mail and check the posts on TBN. I'll try to upload some pictures, but I'll have to start in the morning so I can send them by the afternoon. I would've added a smiley there, but from my end, it isn't really that funny.

Ok, so as promised, here's a pic. Before anybody asks, I have no idea what brand of machine it is underneath all the armor, and no I don't get to play with it either. The armor is to protect the operator from snipers, who have a nasty habit of trying to do anything they can to prevent our day to day operations from going smoothly. The tires are loaded, but only to keep bullets from flattening them. Not really needed for extra weight.
