attachments that require front hydraulics

On a skid steer the possibilities for hydraulic implements are nearly endless. In a tractor youæ±*e mostly limited to stuff that doesn稚 have hydraulic motors. The flow isn稚 there for any amount of power.

You can run some front mounted augurs with a tractor hydraulic system: Lowe 75� Hex Auger Drive - Skid Steer Attachment Depot

In addition to augurs and grapples: Tree puller and/or shear.

The things I own that go on the SSQA and have hydraulics are post hole digger, trencher, rotary cutter, cement mixer, 6 way dozer blade, and vibratory sheeps foot packer.

Here is one requiring hydraulics, that isn't seen much here on TBN. It is a Tilt-Tach, it tilts 15 degrees to either side:

Most tractors are set to a 2,500psi relief on the hydraulics, some a lot lower. Generally unless you go above 60hp you are lucky to get 10gpm, my 40hp L4060 is 9.something gpm.

2,500psi @ 10gpm delivers 14.5hp under ideal conditions. So ya, hydraulics dont hold a candle to PTO HP.

My hydraulic PHD has notably less power & speed than my old PTO PHD did. I still prefer it because of visibiand ity, down pressure & reverse, but wish it (well, my hydraulics really) had more power. Hydraulic angle on my SSQA snow plow is nice too & not really dependent on good hydraulic flow for proper operation.

I have the grapple, Lane Shark trail cutter and a log splitter. Very pleased with operation of each one. I have 16.2 GPM flow on my tractor and 2 separate sets of hoses/connections mounted on the FEL. One set is from the 3rd function and is used for the grapple. The other has one hose from a rear SCV and the return line to the sump. That one runs the cutter and splitter.

I can recommend the Lane Shark FEL rotary cutter. Have cleared a lot of yaupon and water-oak sapling thickets with it. Very flexible - several different positions and angles - and can reach up way high to trim planted pines and such. Our Kubota MX5200 runs it just fine with only 9 or 10 GPM flow.
