I'm sorting through all the information and becoming confused, who sells who's equipment, multiple brands selling the same thing for different prices, I can save $461 buying a king cutter tg-60 from northern tool instead of a gearmore e60, but specs and pictures indicate that it is the same freaking thing...

So, I'm looking at buying an L3130 with a front loader and considering a few implements... This will be for arround the 14 acre home property (hills, woods, flat areas), as well a little commercial work.

Local dealer can't sell to me because all their stuff has hidden gold plating! I can't find it, but they charge for it :(

Rotary mower, 5'

Tiller, 5'

possible flail mower, 5'

Grappel for loader

middle buster

Welcome to TBN :D! It appears that you have the right tractor for your anticipated uses and property. I also believe that you understand the complexities of tractor attachment acquisition. I suggest that you research all the threads in TBN for the attachments with which you are interested. I feel that the membership will give you honest feedback as to your needs and anticipated use. Be aware that there are testosterone driven HP junkies that inhabit TBN land  and that the TBN membership in general is more than willing to help you spend your money ;). Keep asking questions- Jay

Looks like most of the gearmore flail mowers are made by Seppi M :D

Most of the simple implements seem to be marketed through King Kutter at much better prices  :p

I have a friend who is in the business of manufacturing and importing implements including tillers. Without naming him or his company, I will tell you something he told me. When I was looking for a tiller I asked him about getting something he handles. He said that, for the money and for most people like me, the best tiller out there is the King Kutter. I took his advice and haven't regretted it.

I also have a KK rotary mower which has worked fine for me and I've given it some pretty heavy (ab)use and it's still performing well.

Good luck with your attachment search. I hope this helps. :D

I agree with the KK response. I have a 48' KK BB and it has taken a beating but still works great. If you are going to be doing commercial work, you may want to look into heavier guage stuff (Landpride, Woods, etc.). If just for the home KK will give you the most bang for the buck.

Back to sorting :)

I like the idea of heavier duty attachments, but at the same time they claim to require more HP, so that takes me to another question, the recomened HP for heavy duty attachments is higher, and it never clarifies if it is tractor HP or PTO hp

Napa,

You listed the 513 loader and a desire for a grapple. If you want a grapple, you should go up to the 723 loader. Most grapples will be in the 200+ pound range and the load is often in front of the bucket, reducing the leverage and the lift of the loader.

On the HP requirements, they are really trying to classify the weight of the tractor. It isn't specific as it is more of a generalization of what will work best for most people in most applications.

I have a L3130 with a LA513 loader. I have had it for three years. Now I want to put on a backhoe. To put on the backhoe I want the dealer told me I need to change the loader from the LA513 to the LA723 so the Kubota subframe will fit. There is no way I am going to change the loader. So now I have to find the backhoe I want and fabricate the subframe. I told the dealer when I bought the tractor that some day I was going to get a backhoe and he still sold me the LA513 loader. Of course then I didn't know a loader from a post hole digger. At least now I can tell you the difference.

I'm interested in the backhoe too, not just yet, but at some point, and the aftermarket hoes look aukward, the bota hoes pricy :(
