Pretty well everything goes on pallets. That way I can store them right in front of each other (I have limited flat storage space) move them to clear snow, set them just inside the garage to work on them (low door, tractor won't enter).
Someday I'll get the edges of the quanset hut cleaned out. Right now (and for the past ten years) I've just got a 10' path down the middle, full of skids with things like generators, logging winches, snow tires, skidoos, ontboard motors etc. Only takes ten minutes to pick up all the pallets and get to the far end. In winter my boat is back there, in summer its the skidoos....
Our weather might change from -30C to -5C (or +5C to +15C)over 24 hours. When it does anything made of steel gets covered with frost (condensation) A tarp just keeps it wet....
