Boy, we're a passionate bunch.

So you know, the Honda Accord is not a real car...I mean it has 4 wheels and a trunk, but it is really useless. It is not big enough to load a 96" TV, it can't tow a gooseneck trailer, and the 0-60 time is laughable.

The only real car is a Tex-Mex Edition F13500. That's why you see so many Honda Accords for sale on the used market. They're ALL upgrading to the Tex-Mex F13500. Because it rocks.

And the Honda Accord isn't a real car.

Not a personal attack here on the Honda Accord Super-Duper Fan Forum, that your car is so small. Not my fault that you all secretly want a Tex-Mex F13500.

Just my opinion.

The only purpose here is to make sure the OP has all the information he needs to hopefully make an informed purchase. If he needs a BX, he'll be happy with a BX. I may buy 20 acres in the next year or two (really, I may), but that won't make my NON-purchase of a L- or M- series Kubota (or whatever 'big' series of whatever other brand) a bad choice.

And after 5 years of BX ownership I have never, not once, for one moment, regretted my decision and wished myself onto a larger tractor. I use the stink out of my BX and have the pictures of completed projects to prove it.

That is the opinion I'd like the OP to know. As long as he knows that, whatever you're thinking is just fine too.

Wow, you guys need to lighten up, once again "opinion" not personal attack. It's just a tractor. :D

I have to be honest; the person I see stirring things up is you Dusty. Your original post had some opinions that were a real slight to others. Somehow, you seem to think you are right and others are wrong. Your comments regarding health care were out of line and were removed. Acceptable manners on a message board is different than getting along in person because there is no body language and tone of voice. Others can't respond to you instantly after every one or two sentences. It took many of us a while to learn how to effectively participate in a way that benefits us all. Rather than telling the whole group of "you guys" to "lighten up", I recommend you go back and examine your part in this, not just what you said, but how you said it. Obviously, the manner in which you are communicating is not going smoothly for you.

...and you all are acting like he said your daughter is ugly and your son is a girlie boy.

It's a tractor that you are discussing with someone on the Internet. If you are getting offended by the statement that was posted by dusty1, you were looking for a reason to get your knickers in a bind. Else you would have taken the time and thought to craft a response like Lbrowne. Detailed and experience based, not a veiled personal insult like the first couple responders to Dusty1. They were not following your rules either as they were stating That he was too stupid to speak with.

If you are going to call people on the carpet for poor etiquette, don't just hammer the folks you disagree with.

Good post Dad, you've really given some soothing and calming advise and correction. I'd say this discussion will end now that you've shown the error of somes ways in such a delicate and diplomatic way.:) You seem to have a real command of the best words to use to calm people down. Your not like a police crisis negotiator, are you?:D You and Dusty1 have such a way with words to encourage good friendly discussion between people that share same interests.:)

But see, you have it backwards. You and Dusty are the ones using words like "knickers in a bind", "stupid", "girlie boy" and so on. No one else except the two of you are using those kinds of terms, yet you turn around and say that others have the problem. In psychology, that is called projecting. The angry and upset feelings that are within you, you project upon others and see those things within the other person, when in reality, they are not in the other person. They are within you.

I have come to the conclusion JOHNTHOMAS has it figured out. He owns both. I now know what I want, a BX2660 for the summer and cabbed B3030 for the winter. :confused2:Keep in mind I have a Kubota ZTR. Taking TBN members advice, I have envisioned future uses besides snow removal. I foresee aerating my 4.5 acre lawn. ??A B3030 might pack the lawn more than aerate it?? I foresee myself putting edging around groups of mature trees thereby creating large islands to make mowing more efficient. Is the B3030 FEL too big and clumsy to bring 1-2 inch rock to the edged out areas and then spread it?

In my opinion only, I believe compaction is not the problem some may think. I run pretty good sized tractors across my yard without problems. I live on a working farm with large John Deere tractors, combines etc. often crossing some portions of my lawn area and only in the area by my barn is compaction a problem.

With my properties occasional use does not compact soil, so something the size of any of the B Series should be fine for chores on your property as long as you let it dry sufficiently. I wouldn't worry about regular use of any of the B Series for mowing, but I vary my mowing pattern and realize soil types will vary.

I don't get to concerned about compacting soil and I have never aerated my soil. Course my brother laughs at my yard which is 6 times bigger than his, his looks like it should be in a magazine, a small magazine:). But one year when we had drought conditions his died and my weeds stayed green. Anyway, I've driven BX's, B's and an L across my yard and never was concerned about compacting my yard. I do have a Ferguson overseeder with spikes all around it which does slice holes in the ground for letting seed and fertilizer drop in but I don't do any plugging or dethatching and rarely fertilize and rarely throw out hundreds of dollars of Lime as most in my area do. I do have a distance yard unlike my brothers close up yard.:)

I was cutting the dandilions with my glorified garden tractor BX2660, when I stopped and decided I would dig out this culvert full of rock hard clay and replace it with bigger one, filled that in, and then the next weekend had 14 yards of gravel delivered and so dugout 14 yds of clay underneath my woodshed walls and replaced it with gravel..........and then went back to cutting my weeds with my " glorified garden tractor" .
Actually I don't even have a mower for my BX2660 , I use a 12 hp gas Husqavarna for that, my BX2660 is for the heavy work . Next week I have to drag 16 12inch x 14 ft logs from my bushlot on ATV trails to my woodpile near the house.

Oh well thank God its glorified and narrow and short for those trails !

smiling jake
