Attention - \'Bird\' or Others?

Hey Bird, Sorry to single ya out but I have noticed over the past year or so that you have or used to have a B7100 with a FEL. I was wondering if ya may remember where the FEL got its hydralic pressure from? (Where did it tie into the pressure line) and where did the return line go into the resevoir? This is all in regards to the FEL that I have built for my own B7100.(Early 80's) Every thing else has been done on the loader with the exception of the plumbing to the rams and the spool(Control Valve.) I see where there is a solid hydralic block located just ahead of the brake pedals on the motor and I am thinking that since this is a pressure line, that I can just drill and tap this block to 1/2" pipe and supply the FEL. I also have a spot on the resevoir that is already tapped for 1/2" pipe that is about 2 inches to the left of the dipstick on the case . (You would normally fill it here). I was thinking I could send the return to here. Does this sound correct? I would appreciate your thoughts. ideas. Also, Do you remember if ya had to have an extra resevoir to hold more (Extra fluid) with the FEL. I am afraid that with the bucket in the air, It may run my fluid low in the resevoir with all the fluid in the rams and not have enough to supply the rest of the tractor. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks again... Visa

Re: Attention - \'Bird\' or Others?

Visa, sorry I can't help you. My B7100 had the B1630C loader on it the first time I saw it, wasn't a quick attach so it was never taken off, I never modified anything on it, and I just don't remember where it was plumbed in. I'm bettin' someone who still has a B7100 will tell you though.

I believe the cover of this block you refer to can be removed (2 bolts) and a block with two tapped holes (inlet and outlet) can be purchased from Kubota to bolt in its place. Be sure to use an open center valve. When I get home, I'll post the diagram of the block on my tractor (B7300). I believe it's the same as yours.

Visa:

I have an late 70's B6100DT (gear drive) with a Kubota FEL. It does not use the same hydraulic system as the 3ph. The FEL hydraulic system on my tractor has a pump on the front PTO where the electric clutch for a Mid-mount-mower would go. This pump has a hudraulic pressure line going to the selector valve block which is mounted on the right side FEL upright. This FEL upright is also the reservoir for the hydraulic fluid. Outflow from the selector valve block flows into the reservoir near the top. The pump supply comes from the bottom of the reservoir through a screen filter.

I don't think that there would be sufficient hydraulic fluid in the B6100DT's "on board" hydraulic system to run a FEL. Right now it only operates the 3ph and it's "reservoir" is the gear case.

Re: Attention - \'Bird\' or Others?

Hey WVBill
I used to have a 7100dt and it had a hydralic pump in front of the radiator with a shaft attached to the front of the engine crankshaft, with two lines going to the control valve on the right upright of the loader frane, which was also the hydralic tank. It appeared to be a self contained unit, but I never removed it off the tractor.
