I have a day job in the city where I dress business casual. My "work" clothes and accessories consist of slacks, a button up or polo style shirt, dress shoes, matching belt. I like carrying a pocket knife and use a slim little gerber pocket knife that doesn't create a bulge in the pocket of my dress pants. I use a leather holder for my iPhone that clips to my belt.

As soon as I get home I change into my weekend wear, or my "workin'" clothes which consist of jeans, a t-shirt, a ball cap (currently working on wearing out my Kioti tractor hat), and a slightly larger gerber pocket knife with a clip, a sturdy leather belt, and redwing work boots. I keep my iPhone in my pocket as I tend to get the holder hung on things around the farm (gates, etc). I do tend to have to clean the phone out of tiny hay particles the hole in the phone (I always wonder if I'm the only one that has to do that).

I've had people not recognize me in my workin' clothes that are used to my work clothes.

Does anyone else have this drastic change of attire?

Also, what are some useful things others carry around in their pockets? I like the idea of a multi tool but it always seems a bit bulky. I have a neighbor that carries around a pair of pliers everywhere he goes. It has come in handy more than once when he's helping me with something.

I'm in the same situation as you. I am a school principal, and 350 kids see me in a shirt and tie every day of the week. I can walk by them at the convenience store and they can't even recognize me. I often hear "I didn't know you wore jeans!"

If I'm not at work, I wear my Danner boots, a tee or sweat shirt, depending on the temperature, jeans or work shorts, and a hat. I don't carry a knife at work (for obvious reasons), but always have a small folder in the pocket of my jeans. My phone is always in my pocket, work or play.

+1 with Will C. School board administrator with shirt and tie. "Work" clothes on the farm is Jeans, suspenders, and workboots. I exchange my HTC smartphone for an Ipod that I can plug into the noise-canceling headphones on for the toys. The HTC phone will also play my audiobooks, but frankly, I don't want to hear the phone.

I went into work one day to drop off some files in my farm duds before leaving on vacattion to the farm and got stopped by security even though I had a badge on. Didn't mind, but laughed- I had the Guard who was on duty in one of my College classes as a student.

Work clothes are uniform company pants and short sleeve button down. Typical blue collar work uniform.

Around home it's either jeans and a t shirt, or overalls. Usually overalls.

For me casual is a T-shirt, a JD ball cap, Wrangler Jeans, and Ariat boots. That is for every day of the week so people always recognise me. For the weekend the only thing that changes is I will carry a folding pocket knife for use on the farm(s).

Most weekends see me wearing bib overalls (Carhartt) and a long sleeve T in cool weather, short sleeves in warm weather. Anyone that hasn't tried bib overalls is missing some comfortable work wear.

Shorts are great, but not in fly season.

Well, "dressed up" means a clean, newer pair of jeans  I have a pair of "dress" black jeans but I haven't worn them for a long time.

It helps to be retired. :)

:laughing:Since I wore a police uniform for more than 24 years and either jeans and sport shirt, or a jumpsuit, off duty, people didn't recognize me off duty. And I've carried a pocketknife all the time since I was 6 years old.

I am the exact same. Business casual all day but 1 minute after I set foot at the house off the stuff comes. On goes coveralls (tough duck) and a work shirt such as a t shirt or more if it's cold. Gloves (leather or those new mechanic type ones), a hat of some sort (usually a Barmah) and Terra work boots. I always have some sort of folding knife in my pocket, but nothing fancy.

Ahh, the feeling of being home, can't beat it!

Yep, bib overalls here too. It's getting to the point I'm going to have to buy new ones...I see the Carhart's have a zipper fly now.
